The female only gym here, Gymophobics, is the most retarded gym ever. You can only go by appointment and can only go for half hour. You cannot properly work out for only 30mins. Luckily my girlfriend despite getting uncomfortable and nervous comes to the same gym as me so can work out properly and with me. Men get uncomfortable at gyms too for the same reasons but our choice is deal with it or do it at home as we don't get the luxury of men only - which sometimes wish I could as so many girls are not taking the gym seriously enough and sit chatting or texting blocking the place up. I suffer severe anxiety and I manage to go, zone the people out and you don't care if you are being watched. It's more of an excuse mentality as don't want to put in the effort usually.

The gym I go to has a lady's only room so it has the both options. But I will say I feel the women's only rooms in gyms are degrading to women when you see the equipment in them. It basically sends a message that women that they only lift light weights and that they only do the limited amount of things in that room, and it's pretty tiny and a big portion of it is treadmills and cardio.
No. Those gyms are mostly very expensive for the meager amount of machines they have, and I don't know, I just feel like gyms like those are too... "zen", they lack testosterone haha! Plus, it's always a delightful motivation when you're about to give up on the treadmill and up comes 3 fit guys getting on top of the elliptical in front of you. Not one, but 3!
On occasion it's gotten uncomfortable with guys staring while I use the machines, but honestly? Half the reason I go to the gym is to check out and meet the hot guys lol. I've made awesome guy friends that I work out with sometimes, and met a few dates as well. It's a great motivator to go.

As long as it's somewhat cheap, it's decently equipped and you enjoy the freedom to go about your way, I don't care. One of the gyms that were women only here, was such a weird place. You had to follow a trainer's work out and none other but hers and only one hour a day at most. Like, you couldn't even be there, chilling, getting lost in your thoughts while running.
I was part of one before because it was so new and pretty =D And it was awesome. It was nice, none of the "let me use this elliptical as sexily as I can so the juice-head by the dumbbells will notice me." But now it's getting too expensive so I'm going to switch to a regular one.
There is none in my area, but I would ya. Although I've never been to one so I don't know if what others said about the weights and stuff is true.
But I do go to the gym to work out and especially in the weight room I think I'd be more comfortable without menI am going to an all women's gym and that's the only ones I go to. I once tried to go to a gym for both sexes but it wasn't for me. Guys stare a lot I couldn't use any of the machines without at least three guys staring at me. It just makes me too uncomfortable and I cannot focus on working out because some of them are a**holes and comment. It's not fun to work out when a guy is yelling: oh I would like to do you in that position.
These a**holes just ruin it for the good guys at the gym. There aren't any women only gyms around here, haha!
I guess it doesn't really matter to me, guys there or not there... I'm there to work out, not mack on men, haha! So it doesn't matter either way.
When I go, the place is almost empty anyway, haha! It's so peaceful!Yeah, I would consider it...I belong to two gyms...the gym I go to more frequently has an all womans section and that's where I do my exercise...I don't like being looked at by men when I'm working out...it makes me feel cheap
I did that once and it was all old b****es with saggy titties and no bras. Never again.
My Zumba class wouldn't be the same without ladies in it :(
I would probably not. I would go to a mixed gym instead.
I would, and I have! It's great because it's main focus is women's health. It's also nice because I don't care to be hit on while I'm there to focus on my workout.
I was a member in a "Women's Only" gym..
and honestly, the equipment was not well maintained compared to the unisex gym I was a member of before, or the one after. No, I don't like how they the layout, its set-up like women don't lift. Where are the bars, where are plates, where is the noise?
No. I visited one and they had tiny weights or no weights. Plus men don't intimidate me at the gym lol. If they want to stare... Whatever.
I would. It would make me feel much more comfortable. A lot of women (not all) are insecure when it comes to working out in front of guys.
That's a terrible idea. Those toned ladies doing squats on the weight floor are great inspiration for all the men, haha.
I personally never felt uncomfortable at the gym, so there really is no need for me to go to an all women's gym.
I'm not a woman, but It would be exciting joining an all womans gym, I would be able to watch all the woman work out, without other men in the way =P.
I feel that women are far more judgmental than men so I wouldn't go to an only women gym
Definitely an interesting question. Tip of the hat for that.

No, I would still want to go to the regular coed gym.
