I've lost my confidence because of it!
I want to no what foods can cause acne because I want to completely cut them from my diet.
I want to feel good about myself again!
Any tips or suggestions would be lovely :)
Changing your diet honestly won't do much. That's a false left over idea that not many dermatologist agree with any longer. A lot of it is genetics. But I do have some tips.
1.) keep your sheets clean. Wash your pillow covers regularly. You literally rub your face all over it every night.
2.) think about what make up is. It's minerals ground up that you're coating your face with. Acne comes from clogged pores mostly so rubbing that in your pores may not be the best idea. I'm not saying it's all bad but research what your rubbing on your face and pay close attention to the ingredients. I don't wear make up so I can't say exactly what to watch for. Also don't assume just because someone else can wear it without problems means you can.
3) your soap. Once again read the ingredients. A lot of soap these days are just detergents and can be very abrasive towards your skin.
4) try to keep your hands out of your face. You touch everything with your hands. Your picking up dirt and germs almost constantly but your hands have skin that's built for that just like your feet. Your face however has much thinner skin which has many more pores. Putting your hand on your face too often may be moving a lot more dirt and germs up there than you think
5) don't expect immediate results but if you've been trying a multitude of things over the years and nothing has worked you may need to talk to a dermatologist. Some people are just more probe to acne but there are ways of treating it.
Of course - food
but more importantly, movie stars write about staying clean - REALLY clean
e.g. NEVER touch your face (or acne prone spots), always use a tissue
always clean your face
never let those pores get clogged
1. soap & water
2. alcohol (luxury = Sea Breeze)
3. peroxide/witch hazel/equal as last resort
4. fluoride toothpaste overnight on pest spots
avoid wearing foundation because it will only clog your pores and cause more breakouts..wear face powder instead..normally sweet food, chocolate, chili, fast foods or even some dairy products can cause it..use a nice facewash daily (a soap-free one), and have a face scrub once a week..also stress can cause breakouts
acne isn't always caused by foods but if you think that is the issue than cutting out dairy and unnatural sugars would likely help. going to a dermatologist for my acne made all the difference in the world though.

Its destroyed my confidence too:/ i took dairy and limited gluten intake and its improved my skin. I drink lots of water and green smoothie (look up on youtube) it helps heal and get rid of acne. I use benzoyl peroxide for acne, salicylic acid for black heads and alpha hydroxy acid to lighten pigmentation. Exfoliate twice a week and take supplements and my skin is decent but not as great as id like it to be
Dermatologists say it's a myth that foods cause acne. Cutting the amount of refined carbs and dairy from your diet may help. Emphasis on MAY.
Anything DAIRY! Cheese and especially milk. Milk has a lot of hormones which causes acne. Fried foods and fast food causes acne as well.
Avoid greasy foods like greasy pizza, potato chips, and things of that nature.
And make sure you wash your face often. Especially if you sweat easily like I do.
Careful what you eat. Keep skin clean
