Is it okay to judge people by their appearance?

I don't like ugly people. If a t.v show is on and the main character is ugly I will boycott the t.v. show.

There are a lot of ugly and dog ugly people out there, if I held to your principals I would be missing out on the better part of life.

In my past I would only date beautiful women and many were the same, all used up and shallow then I started dating the "plain Jane" my God you learn where beauty is hidden, I have had the best time with plain Jane to the point that you look at her long enough she gets cute.

I am looking for a woman with an ugly face and banging body, I know it has got to be the bomb when it comes to sex.

Wasn't your entire response just another form of judging one's appearance? Asker said he hates ugly people. Now you're saying you find beautiful girls boring and shallow.

Not that there's anything wrong with it. If anyone thinks it's wrong to judge by appearance, they're probably naïve and delusional.

I can't think of anyone who sees a homeless hipster begging for change on a street corner and think "What a waste of space that person is".

Is it okay? Legally it is okay not to like ugly people. Ethically it is not okay to dislike someone for the why they look because they can't help it. There is a loophole however that if they are ugly because of something they can help, such as being fat, you are allowed to hate and discriminate against them. This form of prejudice is not only alive and well, it is a growing movement.

legal, yes. do you have issues that you need to work out? yes. you're way too shallow and not only are you missing out on a lot of great people (and shows) you're also i'm assuming judging yourself just as harshly, which can't be good for your confidence. you should combat this by spending more time getting to know (whether in person, or via tv, internet, reading) ''ugly'' people to realise that it doesn't matter what someone looks like.

Unfortunately we all do it to a degree. Although personally I'd rather see a ugly person on TV, makes me feel a damn site better than all these amazing men and women getting together -_-

No, it's not. I prefer judging people based on what they do. Some people can't help what they look like, so it's incredibly unnecessary to act as if they don't deserve some respect just because they were born a certain way.

It's not but human beings do it all the time for no reason at all too. We all do it at one point no one is perfect so people who say they never do are lying.

Breaking bad to name one! Such a good show! Supernatural is a good show with good looking main characters, have you seen the show? It's really good.

It might be shallow but I think everyone does it.
I just think you need to remember that "good" people come in all shapes, colors and sizes. That doesn't mean you have to be attracted to them.
