What is going on here? Health Question!?

I have scowered the internet looking for this, so I'm hoping someone on here will miraculously know. Two weeks ago, I was out running in the woods and got cut, bit, or something. A couple days later, I had what looked like a zit or a blister on my ankle. I ignored it thinking it was just a bug bite. A co-worker even said it was just a fire ant bite and would go away, other people said it looked like a spider bite. It swelled all up, around the sixth day, and by the eighth, it had turned black. Still avoiding going to the doctor (money), I was out trying to keep things normal when I suddenly got this horrible headache. I'd been getting headaches for a few days, but they were also at night. This one was the strongest and in the middle of the afternoon. I made my excuses and headed home. By the time I walked through the door, I was freezing so badly I had to take a hot shower just to stop shaking, I was very nauseous, my head was throbbing, and my eyes felt practically swollen shut. My fever was around 102. I was so sick, and this is a first, that I was up most the night. Usually, I can sleep through anything.

The next morning, I got up and went right to Urgent Care. The doctor came in, asked about a couple symptoms, poked at my ankle a bit, and promptly said I had a Staph infection. He pretty much cut it out, as in I now have a giant hole in my ankle, and put me on antibiotics. This was nearly three days ago. So, here's my question. I feel a lot better, though I still struggle to walk, but at nights, the headache, nausea, and chills come back along with a slight fever. Can a doctor really make such a diagnosis without running tests? How long will it take these meds to work? What can I expect from here?

The short answer is yes, the diagnosis could be correct if the lesion was a by-the-book case. If you are starting to feel better, chances are it's just part of the natural course of healing during the administration of antibiotics. If it gets worse over the next 72 hours or you find another rash that resembles a bulls-eye-like shape,, my recommendation would be to head to your nearest hospital emergency room to be assessed for Lyme disease immediately.

I will say that it will take days or maybe weeks for your body to get rid of the toxins or whatever it is. I know that sleep helps a lot for rejuvenation, um... As for the rest, let me see. Have you tried sweating? It's a good way to get poison out.

All I've done for three days is sleep. Yes, I've sweat, mainly when the fever will drop and I'll be asleep with piles of blankets and heating pads.

Okay, then another thing you can do is meditate, there are some WikiHow's you can find, but if you can hold still for half an hour, breathe steadily and stare at your eyelids in a fixed way and a focused sense, you'll numb out the pain. That's how I sat through my recovery after having my leg operated on, only used 1 pain killer in 50 days. You can block out noise, pain, you name it.

I think you'll get well. There are ways beyond my skill in meditation where you can promote your body's regeneration, I forgot how I got this idea. There is perhaps a part of your brain that can signal the respective hormones or whatever is necessary to start repairing. If I needed to heal, I'd introspect that part of my brain, usually takes me 2 minutes to feel the hot blood pumping in my heart, so I know it's possible to isolate different brain parts. If you do that, you might be able to amplify the healing process.

That's your body fighting infection along with the antibiotics. You're supposed to take all your antibiotics as however directed. If nothing changes for the better then you should go back to a health practitioner.

It will take few more days to heal. Weakness will persist. Just don't forget to take your medicines and complete the coarse.
