Are you sick of the word diet for weight loss?

Do you think that the proper word is life style change because weight loss is a life time commitment.

No not really. I'm sick of people saying "it's not a diet it's a lifestyle change" Shut up. everyone knows what you mean when you say diet. And to say you are going to change your diet is in fact a very accurate expression for saying you're changing what you eat
In the first few months it's going to feel like a diet. And eating healthy is not the same as eating to lose weight. You need a calorie deficit to lose weight. You can be the healthiest eater on the planet and still not lose weight because you eat what you burn or more than that. Which is why I hate it when people say they wouldn't date people who are a bit bigger because they want them to be healthy. That's a BS excuse at around a BMI of 24 you're perfectly healthy, people don't want to date them because they don't like the look

But considering most models are underweight and they are seen as attractive, I don't think it's wrong to criticize men for finding that attractive. It's certainly not healthy as they claim

Well I feel that people miss use the word diet. Your diet is just what you consume. That's why on animal planet they're like a giraffes daily diet is leaves and shrubs. But u feel as though people miss use the word and use it to mean they are going to eat healthy for a certain amount of time. Me personally I just say I'm changing my diet or I have changed my diet. Which for me isn't a quick fix it's something I shall be doing for a long time aka lifestyle change

A bit, yes. It gets annoying after a while when people just automatically associate it with weight loss. When I mention the word diet for myself, people always give that stupid look and say the stupid thing "But you don't need to lose weight!". Then I have to explain to them that diet simply means the food you eat, and I am on a bulking diet. Then you explain that there are many different types of diets. Then they give you another stupid/epiphany look, realizing that they knew this all along but just didn't think of the word diet as meaning the name for all those things. Then 2 minutes later, they forget everything they ever knew about what the word diet actually means and they go back to assuming it means weight loss only again :|

Diet, as in a particular diet, has the connotation of something temporary, which means any purported results will be the same.

Over the years i have found research into insulin to be a good keystone... Google terms like, yes, insulin, insulin resistance, blood sugar spikes, glycemic index, simple carbohydrates, complex carbohydrates, and build your program accordingly. One thing this angle accomplishes is minimal feeling of deprivation, if any, which is ultimately the true enemy of any 'diet'.

Not at all. The problem is people tend to look at the word in its verb form when they should be looking at it for its noun form. Modifying their diet (foods consumed) which is in fact a lifestyle change.

If someone wants to loose weight, it has to be 50%exercise, 50% watching your diet. Most people just misunderstand the wort "diet", and think they only will get to eat a box of salad a day. What it really means, is that you'll have to limit the intake of junk food products. Nothing wrong with that word.

YES. I believe people should not blindly pursuit just being skinny, but instead they should try to get curves, some muscles, curves are more sexy :)

I've never really accepted the word diet. It never worked and I was upset everyone someone said they couldn't eat something cause they were on a diet.
