Bad sleeping schedule, how do I fix it?
Any advice is greatly appreciated! :)
Force of will plus habit.
pro tip 1
download an obnoxious ring tone to set as your alarm. I recommend system of a down chop suey. the one where they scream WAKE UP dududududu MAKE UP dudududu WANTED TO. Set like 5 alarms 10 min apart starting with the time you want to wake up. basically its going to force you to get up eventually. after enough nights of 3-4 hours of sleep you will be pretty tired way earlier. Do it long enough for body will adapt to a normal cycle.
also pro tip, when it gets to like 11-12 at night and you start to feel a little tired... dont tell yourself your going to just watch one more video or play one more game :D
Gradually force yourself to be in bed 30 minutes earlier than you normally do for at least a week and eventually work your way down to your wanted bedtime. You have to get your body into a routine of falling asleep at certain times, this also means you need to do this on weekends too since people typically stay up later on those days. I had a shift change from 4pm-3am to 3:45AM to 3pm which was like a totally 180 for me as I'm a night owl, so eventually I got myself to going to bed around 8pm when I have to be up 7 hours later.
Do some sports during the day, it will tire your body and you'll fall asleep in the night sooner than you know. There are things that usually keep you awake, like some gadgets or social media, stay away from them when you're trying to sleep. You can read heavy readings before you sleep, like some finance books or history books or others that certainly would make you fall asleep (remember what subjects did you fall asleep during high school?) Lol, if you get enough sleep, you will wake up by yourself in the morning :)
I feel you... I have insomnia and this is something I have to battle ALL THE TIME.
The only thing that's ever worked for me when trying to switch around my schedule involved me staying awake for a very long time, not giving in at the strange time but making myself stay awake until it was a normal time to sleep. You may have to do this several times before you start to feel better though.
You can do other things like taking Valerian Root or Melatonin.
Best of luck!
I know, it's really difficult... but it's the only thing that's ever worked for me.
You simply have to force yourself to do it.
Thanks for MH!

They say lay off the caffeine for six hours before
your going to lay down to sleep, make sure your t. v.
is off , make sure all electronics is off (cell phone,
computer ) I am in such a predicament now with
poor sleeping habits , the thing is i need to get
off the computer, forget about it and lay down
but it never happens with me so i know how
you feel
The way I change my sleep schedule (which I have to do alot) I get a caffine tablet or 2 and stay up through my normal sleep cycle. I stay up until the time I want to start sleeping the next night. It is not easy to do but by the time you get to the time you want to sleep you are so tired it is not hard to get to sleep. Then the next day you will find it easier to sleep at that time and so forth and so on.
Just stop being a retard, stay awake and then go to bed at a proper time, set your alarm for 8 hours later.
Lol no not angry, it's just common sense.
9 is too early and too far from your current time. Try aiming for midnight
