Working out but getting a bigger body?

I am starting to workout and instead of getting a slim body, I get a thick muscular body. I am doing a lot of squats and getting a lot of muscle on the outer thigh. I am aiming for a thigh gap. Should I work on inner thigh workouts?

Or is bulky good?

Idk. I am getting thicker from working out... Help? I'm 14.
