Why am I self-conscious about my weight?

I see girls in my school who are skinny as a twig. I am not fat in anyway, but I have a stomach that sticks out a little. I am 5'3" and weigh about 139. I get very self conscious in school because I am not as skinny as other girls. No guy really notices me, I am a senior in high school and I have had a boyfriend or any kind of relationship with a guy besides being friends. I feel unattractive and I feel like it's because I am curves and I'm not as small as other girls in school. Why am I like it?

i no exactly how you feel. i am the same, at fist i didn't mind it but as i got older i could see i was bigger than other girls even though i wasn't that big, and i have no confidence. do i told my mum i wanted to lose some weight and tone up and she supported me by buying me a gym membership and i worked hard and dieted till now when i am still a little bit like i dont like my body but im a LOT better. but the only thing is now i am always worried about what i eat. and how if i eat ill put on more and im always paranoid about food.

Well you have two options, start working out or realise that not all guys like skinny girls, unless you are really overweight I'd say you have as good of a chance to get a guy as the skinny girls do, the only thing stopping that is your confidence, or lack of confidence.

As you get older this becomes more clear, as you're a girl, you don't really have to worry about it, just take care of yourself! do your hair, do your make-up if you like that, guys will flock to you, be confident!!!
