Im 5'9 and 260 pounds. I live in a very small town so there's no gym available for me to use.
Any home workouts, diet tips, motivation? I'm ready to change :)
I managed to lose a few pounds without heavy restriction or crazy gym routines, I found it a lot easier to do in steps :)
1) I stopped eating junk food/eating out. When I went out with friends I would order something like salmon salad with vinaigrette and water. (Creamy dressings can quickly make a salad worth 1/2 of your daily calories)
2) I stopped drinking soda/juice/milk and stuck to only water. I had one cup every hour and before every meal.
3) Protein and fibre are your best friends. Eat heavy fibrous foods and lean proteins like baked chicken and OATMEAL (!!!)
4) Tea!!! Tea brings flavour into your life. Make a mission to try different flavours (and a bit of honey even)
5) Jogging
6) Lean soups with TONS OF VEGGIES. Keeps you full and happy. I make butternut squash soup and chug it when I'm craving something
The most important thing is to not start out restricting calories. Focus on eating solely healthy foods. When you've gotten into the habit of cooking and eating small protein/fibre meals, it's easier to plan out your calories. And never lose sight of your goal!! Even if you don't SEE progress it's happening, TRUST ME :)))
No offense but you've got a lot of weight to lose, so there will be no quick way or tricks.
What do you eat in a typical day?
You need to start drinking ONLY water.
You also need to cut out all fast food, fried food, and sweets (for now)
You should aim for 3 meals a day and a snack (try granola bars OR fruit OR yogurt for snacks)
Try to eat a wide variety of things- whole grains, proteins, different veggies, etc
Cardio is good for weight loss and health in general. You should start out by walking at least an hour everyday, then jogging.
Google cardio exercises, there's ton, and you don't need a gym.
When you lose enough fat, then you can start adding muscle.
Good luck
Not looking for fast, just successful :) thanks
good! I hope it works out for you. don't give up :)
1. Consult a dietitian. Among the things that they will tell you will be: no sugar (mainly source for you is probably soft drinks); minimal carbohydrates (bread, potato).
2. In the absence of a gym, start walking the dog for an hour per day. The dog will love you for it.
You should be able to drop about 2.2 pounds per week without doing yourself an injury.
If there is a karate dojo in your town, become a dedicated student. Train hard and often. There is an obvious fitness and weight benefit, as well as learning how to defend yourself.

Watch your labels: Cut down on saturated fats, cut out trans fats, count calories-sweets once a week for one cheat day only, add more oatmeal, whole grains, fresh fruits/veggies, exercise for at least 10-30 mins a day, and drink a little lemon juice.
There's more, but i can't think of it at this time.
Google?
