What's the best thing to do in this situation?

Sooo, yesterday I had texted a friend "hey" at 2-ish, and I wasn't expecting him to reply right away since it was the week before finals (and yes it was a guy that i texted). I just suspected that he was busy with the finals and everything, but it turns out (and he responded at 4-ish) that he was having a bad reaction to a shot that he had to take, and he kinda had a seizure, but he was fine. I kinda freaked out when I got the message from him, and i told him i was so sorry about that and that it must've been scary. he said it was. and then after i found out how recent this was (which was a few hours before then) i sent him this picture that was a "virtual hug" and it had a little guy with his arms out and it said "sending virtual hug..." and the bottom of it said "Hug sent!" He told me "awww thanks" with a smily face.
The reason I ask what to do in this situation is because I don't know how long he'll need to rest and everything if that makes sense... (He lives in Louisiana too by the way.)
