But... I'm not advocating starvation, but just in case you go ahead and do it anyway, I'd like you give you some tips on how to do this as safely as possible. I had a friend who did this and it worked pretty well, but it did take some time depending on how much weight you want to lose. She gradually ate less and less everyday as to not shock her body into starvation mode. Eventually she was eating the extreme minimum and some days wouldn't eat anything at all. The trick to coming out of a starvation diet without gaining weight again is to slowly reintroduce food back in your life. Eat a little more every day for a couple of weeks until you're back at a normal diet. Drink lots of water, and if you do eat make sure it's a whole, raw fruit, veggie, or nut. You don't want anything processed or too sugary. Also, be sure to take a multivitamin pill for the entire duration of the diet. It'll help with the malnourishment.
I'm warning you though, this really isn't the way to lose weight. My friend does this every time she wants to lose weight, but she gets really sick around this time too. It's not fun for her, but she does it because she hates healthy food and it's a quick fix. Be careful with this too... I had another friend who tried to copy this diet, but she spiralled out of control and became anorexic and bulimic. She had to be hospitalized and sent to a rehab centre for teens with eating disorders. Best case scenario, you'll just fall back into your old eating habits again and again, however many times you do this. Adopt a healthy lifestyle instead, change your eating habits and exercise more often. That's the only way you'll get lifelong results.00 Reply

+1 yDO NOT EAT ONE MEAL A DAY
indianapublicmedia.org/.../37291-940x626.jpg
if you are serious,
DO AEROBIC EXERCISE AROUND MEALS (ups metabolism, uses energy)
EAT LESS THAN A HANDFUL EACH MEAL and eat frequently, every 3 or so hours (dont bother to count callories, make sure the physical amount is small, google stomach contraction for this. fiber, which expands in your stomach, is good AT THE BEGINNING OF MEALS, FIBER WILL NOT DO SHIT IF YOU EAT IT AT THE END)
drink water and sleep regularly.
throwing up is an option IF YOU WANT YOUR VOCAL CORDS RUINED, TEETH WRECKED, AND THROAT RIPPED TO SHREDS BY STOMACH ACIDS. but idc if you're chill with that, fine. you will still feel full after you throw up, im not kidding when i say it is an option. careful for bulimia though, and make sure you at least digest a little bit afterwards if you're seriously considering this.

it is a bit inaccurate; its not primarily genetic,
how much you weigh right now will affect your metabolism in one to two years, meaning if you weighed 200 pounds a year ago, lost weight and now weigh 150, your body will still try to gain back the weight. if you keep the weight off for two years, your set point weight will go to the new 150, your metabolism will stabilize, and it metabolism will go up when you start gaining weight.
this is also why someone who weighs 100 pounds has a very hard time gaining weight, the body is absolutely devastated to see that you are changing things rapidly, and fucking destroys itself to keep your weight steady.
the absolute best way is to do it GRADUALLY.
you can lose 20 pounds in one week if you SUFFER AND DESTROY YOURSELF, but you need to keep it down for at least a year to keep that weight long term.03 Reply- +1 y
on days when you dont eat as much, your body is taking calcium out of bones, ripping apart muscles, and exhausting your brains glucose.
weaker bones. weaker muscles. weaker brain. same weight.
using fat is the last option you physiologically go to. aerobic exercise and eat small meals often. - +1 y
if your meals are McDonald, grand buffets, or any large portions, fuck that shit right off of your list of options.

sorry for swearing, i needed to get some important points across.
+1 yYou will lose weight, but you won't keep it off. The problem with restricting your food intake is that you wind up training your body that food is scarce in your world. If your body thinks food is scarce, it will attempt to conserve what food there is. Your metabolism will slow, you will digest food more completly, you will absorb every last calorie you eat and store it as fat.
Once you return to normal eating patterns, your body will have been transformed into a highly efficient fat production machine.
What works is burning the calories that you eat while NOT restricting food intake. Just eat balanced and healthy. Increases in activity cause increases in metabolism. Increasing muscle mass (small amounts are sufficient) will consume calories both to grow the muscle and to feed it over time. Because food is plentiful, your body does not work extra hard to store excess calories. The food you eat is now being treated as fuel for the present instead of fat stored against the needs of an uncertain (foodwise) future.00 Reply
Depends upon what and how much you eat in that one sitting!! But it's better to eat proper meals at proper timings. Additionally, try green tea, avoid fried food as far as possible, drink lots of water, and eat healthy stuff!!

+1 yyou'll lose some weight, but your body will become weak, you'll be sustaining a lesser life force of a human body. its simply not worth it. eat healthy foods that are high in nutrition and lower in calories, like chicken breast, broccoli, brown rice, sweet potato, kale, etc etc. you'll get full before you know it and you'll have tons of nutrition your body needs. you'll eventually stop losing and your body will hold onto a certain amount of fat in case of emergency. you'll adapt to your new eating habits but that doesn't make it normal, your body is simply trying to survive. just put in the effort and lose weight the healthy way.

+1 yYour diet needs to be consistent. People who make up these types of "diets" go about it the wrong way.
Let's say you did this and you did lose weight... what would then happen is you'd go back to eating the way you did before and be back at square one all over again. Your diet needs consistency and honestly, should be slowly altered as to not potentially harm you with drastic changes.
I've seen what it is like when a person for example, wiped out all carbs from his diet. His mood went way down, his self esteem went down and he couldn't successfully burn the fat that he wanted. Don't make these drastic changes. Just keep track of what you eat and slowly alter it to make effective changes to your diet.00 Reply 364 opinions shared on Health & Fitness topic. Yup. I did. I ate probably less than that.
I lost 4 dress sizes from eating once a day and exercising 2 hours a day for about 3 months.
I lost 2 dress sizes from eating nothing for 2 weeks and then a quarter of a sandwich a day for 2 weeks, then half for 2 weeks.
It's not healthy at all. I'm eating normally now and I'm bigger than before. I suggest you do it healthily. Otherwise you'll yoyo like me.10 ReplyYou need to combine exercise as well to get the best results.
Pay attention to what your body tells you, though, eating once a day may not satisfy everybody's bodies. My mom has always eaten once a day and been fine, not because of a diet but just because that's what she was satisfied with. Whereas I feel like a crabby old bat that's gonna pass out any minute if I only eat one meal.10 Reply
+1 yYeah you'll lose weight but its not the healthy way. For example, I'm eating once a day but not on purpose. I'm always on the go whether its to work or school so I don't have time to eat. When I do have time it usually goes to studying and homework. I should eat at least 3 times a day but i don't. I've lost quite a bit of weight but its not good for me. Just keep in mind when you go back to your regular eating habits... You'll gain the weight back.

+1 yGoogle something called intermittent fasting. I used to do this back when i was lifting weights. It's perfectly healthy and yeah you will loose fat. It basically involves giving yourself a certain time perioud throughout the day (could be one hour, could be up to eight hours) where you can eat. You don't eat anything outside of this window, but when you do eat you make sure you get all the calories and macros you need. I would personally say it's quite effective.

+1 yeveryone's body is different. I've done intermittent fasting.(with a four hour feasting period) I lost 15 lbs the first week. Its worth noting that I would also do 20-30 minutes of cardio each day. Its hard at first , but you'd be surprised at how quickly you adapt. Again , no 1 method works for everyone.
10 ReplyThat's not a great idea in terms of spiking your blood sugar levels. You could really throw your system out of whack, especially if you're consuming foods high on the glycemic index.
Just target a healthy amount of calories and eat nutrient dense foods (vegetables, fruits, whole foods) spread out over several meals a day. Do that, and you'll lose weight sustainably.00 ReplyEhh you can, will it be good on your body? Doubt it, you need food throughout the day eat the biggest in the morning and gradually eat a little less but what can fit in the palm of your hand. Eat clean, no fried food, processed food, unnatural sugar, excess salt, etc. Bright colored veggies and fruit are great so eat lots of those and A LOT of water! Have at least 30 mins of cardio everyday at least. :)

+1 yInitially, yes you'll lose some weight but it won't be sustainable. Eventually you'll need to eat more than that, you'll feel ill and sluggish and your metabolism will actually slow down and cause you to lose weight slower and even put on rebound weight once you start eating normally again. The best way to lose weight is slowly with a sustainable healthy diet. Try this calculator if you like, you put in your info and it will tell you how many calories you need to eat to lose approx 2 lbs a week. Losing more than 2 pounds a week is usually not healthy and you will be less likely to keep the weight off. Eating 3 small meals and 2-3 small healthy snacks and monitoring calories is the best method I've found, don't forget some exercise too!
https://www.webmd.com/diet/body-bmi-calculator00 Reply354 opinions shared on Health & Fitness topic. Probably, but it won't be very good for your health and you probably wouldn't be able to keep it up. You probably get eat attacks and eat a lot of food at once, because you're kinda starving yourself and that's really bad for your body. So it might work temporally, depends how long you can keep it up. I would try a different technique.
00 ReplyNot a good idea, eating like that may work for a little while but if you keep it up your body will adapt and slow your metabolism. If you want to lose weight you're better off exercising regularly and eating healthy, balanced meals three times a day plus the possible addition of small, healthy snacks between meals if you get hungry.
00 ReplyNo actually if you only Eat one meal per day you will actually get really ill and have lower energy and cause damage
Best way to lose weight is reducing fatty foods and Google for dietary plans but do a lot of exercise and make sure you eat 3-4 meals a day00 Reply
+1 yAs long as you keep it up. At some point you will have to start eating properly again and then you will gain the weight back, additionally you will gain even more weight, because the body will try to keep a bigger "reserve" in case you start starving yourself again.

+1 yYou'll probably lose weight but your looks won't improve. Possible you will gain more fat layers than you had before. In that kind of a situation, your body thinks its world war 3 and tries to stack up as much calories as possible. The number you see would decrease, but the belly you see would enlarge.
10 ReplyEating once a day will make it harder to lose weight. It slows your metabolism. You'd be better off eating little amounts throughout the whole day. Also, don't eat a late dinner, you will barely burn any of it off while sleeping
00 ReplyYour metabolism will slow down and you'll gain weight more easily. Its healthiest to have a series of small meals/snacks throughout the day to keep your metabolism up.

that doesn't work for a large amount of people.

+1 yThat is insanely unhealthy. You'll lose weight, yes, but you won't look like it. All you'll lose is muscle and so you'll look just as out of shape but the number on the scale will be lower.
10 Reply My theory is the exact opposite, i always found it logical that if you eat more often (Not more) you loose weight. Why? Because that will learn your body that storing is not required.

Anonymous(25-29)+1 yActually you will lose weight. I know from experience. You have to eat under 1200 calories but you WILL gain it back. I finally ate today after 3 days. And I lost a lot but most od it is water weight.

+1 yThis is not a yes and no question. If your one meal a day is a large pizza, no, you won't.
Eat the same number of meals you do now... just in smaller quantities. If you want to eat more, exercise.00 Reply
+1 yDepends what the meal is.
Most people find it easier to eat a few meals that hit the calorie and macro targets you have.00 ReplyYes, if you cut your meals and start to eat less than you usually do you will lose a little bit of weight over time. I don't know how much time
11 ReplyYeah, but it'll be weight in muscle, not fat. Which is very very bad for you.
00 Replyit's better to eat 4-5 small meals during the day instead of one.

I have a friend that thinks she eats super healthy because it's natural foods like chicken... but A LOT of fruit and she's about 20 lbs over weight01 Reply- +1 y
that probably has more to do with activity level than how much fruit she's eating
+1 yIt's all about calories consumed vs calories burned.
00 ReplyDepends how many calories in vs out. Plus if its under 1200 your body will go into starvation mode and start storing fat, so you will get fatter.
