Have you tried your smoothies without almond milk? I'm a vegan health nut, and I actually prefer my smoothies with just water. I don't find the taste of any milks go well with fruits and veggies for some reason. I'll give you a list of my favourite smoothie mixtures. Be warned though, I'm all about simplicity. I like just being able to taste each fruit, unlike my mom who mixes a little bit of every fruit we have lmao.
Smoothie 1: Four oranges and a fuck load of kale.
Smoothie 2: A whole pineapple with kale.
Smoothie 3: Kale, three bananas, whole carton of blackberries.
Smoothie 4: Kale, and another load of peeled kiwis. Or not peeled if you're freaky like that lmao.
I can go on forever! I usually just toss in the blender whatever we have just laying around the kitchen. Try your smoothie without any milk though, I find it tastes much better with water instead. I prefer citrusy fruit with my greens too, and almond milk and citrus just don't mesh well lol.

maybe kiwi or other greens such as spinach alfafa (did I spell that right)? I used to go to a nutrition store that sold these shakes made from kale and that is what they used. I don't remember the ingredients as its been a long time since I shopped there. For almond milk, regular milk might work. Not sure. Maybe taro as well.
I don't really know what kale would taste like but I mix almond milk with wild blueberries that I blend with it and I put coconut oil or some kind of oil in there healthy fats. And generally I put some of my protein powder mixed in their as well
