My grandparents back in New Jersey had that sugar and they used it for their tea. It was delicious and won the taste test with white cane sugar.

I use Jim Beam's Maple Whiskey for flambés and making sweet savory pan sauces for my meats. It was terrible as a beverage and sat in my cabinet for months before I decided to make flames. Once the smell of smokey maple filled the kitchen, I knew this was an ingredient I'd use again and again.

Pan sauces consist of mostly the juices and sook from meats that are seared, so it might be less flavorful with vegetables.

Butter, cinnamon, cumin, maple whiskey, and S&P would be the based of the sauce and deglaze with broth if it's too thick.
