I don't are how young she is or how fat her metabolism is, but unless your 300lbs and working out 6 hours a day your not going to lose 5+ lbs a week. At her weight and if she's healthy about it only 1-2lbs a week is all she'll lose. But that doesn't man anything bad. I was about the same height and wight and I got down to 117lbs
losing weight is extremely simple. Exercise at least three times a week for an hour and eat balanced meals. A proper plate should consist of 1/2 veggies or fruit, 1/4 complex carb (such as brown rice, quinoa or wheat bread, etc), and your protein should be the size of your palm. For exercise I think weight lifting is most effective (don't worry about getting bulky, women lack the necessary hormones to get muscles like men), I think it's more effective because it burns calories longer, and builds lean muscle which burns calories by just existing. If you want bigger muscles (example, larger butt or arms) then do heavy weighted exercises with low reps (low weight high rep) and if you want smaller leaner muscle do low weights high rep (this basically toned preexisting muscle. And add about 20mins of cardio of your choice. This is what I find most affective but great at home workouts like blogilates or tone it up on YouTube are great and free.
Staying motivated us hard, but I suggest making a vision board. It sounds stupid but it works (mine has a picture if my setting or before body and next to it are a bunch of pictures of my dream body) seeing how far I had come or was going really set the tone of my day and reminded me what I was working for. I also keep one picture of my dream body on the fridge so that it reminds me to make smart choices about what I'm eating

Thats not safe weight loss, and if she loses that much quickly she's going to be miserable and "skinny fat" because she will lose muscle so flabby basically
Diet without exercise is never reccomended, tell her to try some basic body weight stuff like push ups and squats. Try walking everywhere and do a lot of dancing in your room ahaha make sure 1/2 your plate is veggies, 1/4 is protein and 1/4 is carbs like sweet potato or beans. Fibre and protein and water are your friends!
the easiest way is to cut out all the crap. these fad diets are good for fast weight loss but only work in the short term.
cut out bread, sugar and processed foods, eat lots of fruit and veg, lots of chicken, lots of rice etc.
I lost over a stone in a month by doing that. And although it was hard at first, i actually really crave salad and stuff now.
here's what I eat.
breakfast - i have a normal bowl of cereal. cornflakes or wheetabix. no super sugary stuff.
lunch - i have 2 large wraps with tomatoes, celery, cucumber, lettuce, a small amount of cheese, onion, pickles, quorn chicken pieces/real chicken/smoked mackerel/tuna etc. yeah, its a huge lunch lol. but low on calories.
dinner - i have 2 large chicken breasts with microwavable rice and some salad.
obviously i dont have the same thing everyday, but you get the idea. I like to eat... A LOT, and im never hungry doing this.
