Okay... let's be realistic here.
40-50lbs is a LOT of weight you're talking about.
Assuming that 70% of that being fat , the rest being water weight (which comes off relatively easily).
1 lb of fat = 3500 calories.

So yo lose 40-50lbs of weight , assuming 70% of it is fat.
You're talking about burning.
98,000 calories to get rid of it.
Your daily metabolic rate is around 1800 calories , that's how much calories you need to stay alive.
Assuming you cut 100 calories off that and go into deficit and start burning down the fat. That's 980 days.
Maybe you'll go a bit further and be under your daily metabolic calorie by 200 calories.
That's still 490 days.
I am not trying to ruin your dreams but you HAVE to be realistic here but... I'm not saying that aiming for that is bad.

See... 70% of it being fat is a VERY overly-pessimistic estimate , it might be lower , it might be higher , no body knows.
The matter of fact is this.
Fitness is VERY simple. It's all about counting your nutrients.

There are TONS of diets and pills out there all promising weightloss , all of them will work but none of them will work if you don't stick to it.

I don't think you could lose 40-50 lbs in 6 months. You could maybe lose 30 lbs if you work REALLY hard.
Try to watch your diet. It doesn't have to be super strict but eat well. I think people know well enough not to eat fast food, bags of snacks, or sweets in excess.
Start jogging for 30 minutes a day. If you have a track team at school, DO TRACK! Go to a gym and do body weight exercise and incorporate compound movements. Don't just sit on the machines...

Look up so yoga videos. Yoga is actually a good workout. Running outside is also good. Breathing fresh air will help you feel clean and be healthy. Drinking naturally infused water is a great thing to do when trying to loose weight. It's not only super healthy but it helps make your metabolism faster and cleans out your body. My favourite infused water is taking a water bottle, filling it with good filtered water, putting in a couple slices of lemon, and a couple slices of cucumber, shake it up and it's good to go! You can also Google some other recipes for naturally infused water :)
