So I'm writing this question today is because I have horrible acne on my face and back lately, I feel like I should go to the dermatologist to try to cure my acne. I tried many store acne products and they would work for a while then stop working so I feel like going to the dermatologists is my last option.Do you believe going to the dermatologist is worth it? I'm also wondeirng does the dermatologist clinics is free medical care like walk in doctors and family doctors? ( I live in Canada) or do I have to pay every time I vistied like the denists I have more questions but can someone just answer the two I have right now thank you.
Talk to your family doctor/general practitioner.
If you've only ever tried over-the-counter (non-prescription) acne products from the store, your family doctor may prescribe you something else to try without you needing to go to a dermatologist.
If they feel that you would benefit from a dermatologist, they will give you a referral.
You shouldn't have to pay to see a dermatologist. In terms of treatment, your healthcare insurance should cover most things, but if something isn't considered medically necessary, it might not. Of course, there might be some differences province-to-province.
