I had this very same problem. It really does depend on why you want to workout. For me it was to lose weight so I made a hideous fat picture of myself my phone screensaver so I am constantly reminded why it is important to eat healthy and get up to work out. I write my current weight on my right hand and my goal weight on my left as a constant reminder if I want to resist a snack. I remind myself why I am doing it. And lastly, I am doing it to keep my mind off being broken hearted.

You'll be stronger both physically and mentally.
If you set out to get a nice body as your goal, then you will most likely fail, since you are under pressure by yourself.
There is difference between having a nice body because of working out and working out to have a nice body. A world of difference, tbh.
