Girls, What causes acne?

Before I got on birth control pills for my periods, my acne was the WORST. it was so bad that it made my whole face red with all these spots. Then I got on birth control pills for a while and that made a huge difference where I would only get one or two pimples not often. But now for the last couple months or so before I stopped the pills, it's been getting worse again and now I get really bad ones that hurt super badly. Even in weird spots too. They're bigger and they hurt SOO much. It's also tempting to pop them.

Hormone disruptions usually. Birth control does mess with your body's natural chemical balance so it's normal that you would notice a difference in your skin. You can try a different type of birth control, but you really just might be sensitive to them.
Coffee and chocolate, are stimulants that are linked to acne as well.
Also, you might want to steer clear of meat, dairy, and eggs because of the hormones that are injected into these animals at the factory farms. When you eat their bodies, you also eat all the shit they were injected with as well as their own naturally occurring hormones so that might be playing a part in it as well.

It's an imbalance of hormones. Birth control pills usually balance out your hormones, and help control acne along with cramping, dark spots, irregular hair growth, or irregular periods.

but it could be a number of things. My mom get's it from chocolate, I get it because of hormones and my oily skin. Depends on you I think

You also might just have to find an acne solution that works for you and wash your face everyday to every other day

So, if you do end up seeing a doctor you can tell them about the areas of ur face you get the most acne then tell them you saw this chart, and they should be able to tell you more about the possible toxins in those parts of your body, again, I got all this from my chiropractor though so it just depends on who you ask and they'll have a different way of helping you but usually it means you hav emote toxins in those area of ur body. I, for example, had a hormone imbalance, so I got a lot in my cheeks, and I also had something else and I can't remember the name but it was like food related toxins in my stomach, and I was given natural supplements to help me, but doctors may not go the natural route

you might but maybe ask a doctor if that could play a role in your particular acne, because it might just be all hormones

Try wheatgrass unless your allergic. It's so easy and it only takes about a week or 2 to grow. You should check on you tube to see how to take care of them. It's probably the hormones but trying to cleanse your skin from the inside out should make you have clear glowing skin.

Yeah I haven't tried it yet but I have heard nothing but great things. It not only helps clear acne but it also detoxifies the skin and a bunch of other things.

Acne is hormonal, and the hormones in birth control pills help most women with acne. Now you've stopped them, your hormone levels have returned to how they were before the birth control, making you break out again. Don't pop them, and consider going on the pill again to calm the it down.

Lol well those pills were what was responsible for clearing your skin up. If you don't want to go back on them, go to a pharmacist and get some benzoyl peroxide, it's a topical acne medication.

Hormones is definitely the biggest factor for the cause of acne. Hormones can cause an in-balance in your androgen levels which will make oil glands grow and causes more oil to seep into your pores, forming bacteria and all those nasties. It can possibly be genetic in some cases too. And ya on your period, your hormones are like crazy so obviously lots of things are gonna happen like rise in estrogen levels and androgen too.

And to get rid of the pimples, DO NOT pop! My friends and brother pops them and i'm like wtf why. I get that you don't want them, but yes, popping will get rid of the pimple, it will probably form again on another area in your face, but your left with even more hideous acne scars and holes in your face, i've seen it and its not pretty. Turmeric, honey, and chickpea flower for a mask is genius for your face (btw you might have to add a tinsy bit of water). there's a really good brand of a mud mask, its called aztec healing clay mask and its REALLY good, it gets really good reviews and works great! But using a lot of masks and products can over do it and dry out your face, so make sure to use an oil free moisturizer.

I know it's gross, crazy, etc. but I always feel like I have to do it until I get the puss out even if it bleeds. I just can't deal with it otherwise. But these ones HURT so they must be zits. 😝

Ya, but trust me in the long run you'll be so happy you treated it with the right care! And by the way, if you have dark circles let me tell you there's this natural coffee eye cream with caffeine and it works like a miracle omf. But ya stick to a daily hygiene routine!!! Wash your face, exfoliate, do a toner, do a mask 3 times a week-stuff like that and your skin will be to die for :)

I don't know what exactly cause my acne...

But when I stopped eating gluten, dairy, and sugar (I eat Paleo), it cleared right up!

Maybe one of those things? I've heard that both gluten and dairy, can highly irritate the skin.
