After reading some responses, accutane is probably the best to get rid of it, but its off the market. side effects caused it too, mood swings and becoming suicidal. My friend took accutane and said it worked wonders, but he became very moody. His acne was so bad you could barely see it on his face, and it was all over his chest and back, now he has maybe one or two on his face and no where else. A new pill that came out that I've heard works miracles is acneticin. the reason these work over proactive, is because the source of acne is in your bloodstreams, and these are pills not creams. proactive takes control of the surface but the pills get the acne from the roots in the bloodstream.
Drink plenty of water. Avoid greasy foods. And last, see a dermatologist.
I had severe acne too from the age of 11 to 21. I know what you're going through and completely commiserate.
I took a drug called Accutane and it eradicated the acne. Mine was so bad I needed a second dose. Now, I will forewarn you that it is a powerful drug and there are side effects. In addition, this medication will make your skin worse before it finally works. It will take about 4 months but each month it improves.
I finished my first dose a month prior to starting college. I had more confidence than I felt in years!

try drinking lots of water eat lots of stuff with Vit C (good for the skin)
and lastly go talk to your doctor --i don't know how old are you but it's due to hormones so ask them about being on birth control pills I started to use the pills when I was like 18/19 and my face is clear .. .. But the pills does help if you can't use the pills
try other alternatives but make sure you drink lots of water

well hun if cleansers,scrubs,adn drmatologist prescriptions don't work for you id say take a pot of hot steaming water,put a towel over your hair and put your face near the steam (but not too close!) for a good 15 minutes.It helps a lot, and it improves the look of your face as well.If you don't have a clue to what I'm taking about , google in " hot steam facial" you'll get all the inforamtion you need there. take care xoxox
I had the same problem from when I was like 13-17.
try proactive. and buy their oil control gel, and mask. I think the 5 piece kit comes with them, but their moisturizer SUCKS. Use AMBI Even And Clear Daily Moisturizer.
thats what I do. twice a day. the mask once or twice a week.

Exercise everyday. Sweating opens up your pores and allows your skin to breathe. Use oil sheets. Eat fruits and vegetables
During my teen years I had horrible acne. I found that proactive and lots of water worked well to clear me up. Also make sure you get enough rest and get some exercise, it helps to flush out your pores.
