How can I keep from bloating?

When I eat I eat quick and i try to slow down drink some water. When i look in the mirror i realized my stomach looks much puffier. I used to go to the gym 4 times a week and do lots of cardio but i stopped. Is eating quick and stuffing myself until I'm full damaging me? Will running help me get rid of my bulge?
How can I keep from bloating?
