How should a guy tell a girl she's ordering too much sushi?

So I went out to to eat with a couple for some sushi. I saw the girlfriend order about $120 of sushi/sashimi for herself. Why the boyfriend and I order about a $10 meal each. They are both broke. She just got off a bad day at work. She wants to relax a bit. But they can't really afford a meal like that. What should the boyfriend do in this situation?

FYI. She can finish the sushi, she's not really overeating. She's just ordering the expensive stuff.

If they are both broke - it is their own responsibilities to not overspend wastefully - everyone has to make sacrifices to survive in this economy.

It would be within reason for the boyfriend to softly remind his girlfriend that she needs to absorb the taste of the sushi rather than order more dishes at the first $40 spent (or within reason). If she didn't get the point, I would then assertively say "Babe, don't order anymore sushi"

- If she decides to "throw a fit" ask her to step aside maturely so that you can remind her you both are broke - maybe she won the lottery and didn't tell you! ;-) Nontheless, it shows respect to her, and your relationship

If she continues buying the sushi - let her pay for her portion of the meal and offer her a ride home- if you both took the bus, offer to walk with her at your own sacrifice; however, because she wanted to eat sushi doesn't mean she can escape the responsibilities to pay rent etc.

If she tries to bail her bills onto your lap, I would then recommend she sees a financial advisor / accountant to overview her situation - I wouldn't bail her out unless it was within reason (Different scenario - hospital bills).

That's crazy. Here in my hometown there is an all you can eat sushi bar. 30 dollars per couple or two people. That's a steal. My guess is she had a really bad day, but it's not your place to say anything about what she ordered. If her boyfriend was mad about it, he should have said something then.

It's in no way your place to say. She's not your girlfriend. You would just look rude. If he doesn't like it, he can say something,
