It's not just about exercise, it's also about diet. You need to focus on protein first, cut the carbs and up the veggies. I had surgery. I lost 3/4 of my stomach for a chance at a new life. I have it, and wouldn't trade it for the world. But it's not a road I'd advocate anyone else take. You can eat more in one meal than I can in a day. You can do this - just keep in mind that protein takes a lot more energy to burn than carbs do. I'm not saying all carbs are evil. They have their place. But while you're trying to lose weight, consider something like this:
Chicken breast, 4 oz. 24gm protein
Spinach, essentially no calories but good vitamins
Tomato sauce (not HF corn syrup kind) - essentially 50 calories plus tons of nutrients.
I've got tons of WL recipes. Let me know if you'd like any.

Start by removing sugar, real and fake from your diet. Drink lots of water and tea. If there's no gym then buy a piece of equipment and set aside a specific time each day for self improvement work out. Listening to music while exercising. You did it before you can do it again.
Here's my advice. I've lost about 90 pounds and I've struggled with weight most of my life. I would change one thing at a time. You have 3 sodas a day? Make it 2. You walk 2 miles a day? Go to 2.5 or 3. Small but steady steps. That will help you change your habit rather than "go on a diet". At least that's what I did.
