Girls, HELPP!!! periods?

i got my schedule for school and i have P. E. and my mom wants me to join sports ( track ) but i dont know how i can do that when im going to be on my period and going to be having cramps that kill me :( and the worst park i have my period for 7 days :( and i bleed really heavy... my mom doesn't want me wearing tampons, and i kinda dont want to wear them either help me plese school starts in 2 weeks

You need to talk with your mom about wearing tampons. I was scared to use them at first and I would wear pads when I ran for the first few days, and it was so uncomfortable. I was just focused on that instead of running. Tampons are so comfortable, you don't even feel that they're there! Please talk to your mom. Pads are not comfortable at all for running, and once you get used to tampons you will be soo glad you're wearing them.
I've found that track really helps with cramps as well!

So I ran track for 10 years of my life and never worried once about my periods even though i am a heavy gal and last the same time as you. As for cramps, track is actually good for them and they dont happen as much...

Just wear running shorts or some dark lycra ones and you will be fine, nothing will move and you will be ok...

You need to address tampons with your mother. I had the same problems you did. Exercise only made my cramps worse, not better as some people recommend. The only way I stopped them and severely heavy bleeding was to go on birth control at 14. It was the best decision I could've made. I have my period every three months and it hardly interferes with my life anymore, while before it destroyed it for 6 days.

I'm on the track team and I've survived my period. They make tampons for girls with heavy flows which is an alternative or you could always take advil while on your period. To help with the cramps drink lots of water! Exercising is also a way to shorten your period. I hope this was helpful :)

Exercise is actually really good for periods. Try a tampon, just try it. And take some pain meds before you go

well really the best way to get past it, is to wear tampons. There is nothing wrong with them. they work great and they're so much less uncomfortable

Talk to your mum about wearing tampons. You'll get used to them and they are much more comfortable than pads.
