Question is way too vague, if you're working out then the protein will go to repairing your muscles which will increase your weight. If you're just drinking them without exercising then I think you'd gain fat (I presume they have a fair amount of carbs in them).

yeah you will if you don't use that energy. the shake itself may contain like 180 calories, but if that 23g+ protein goes unused then it will just turn into more fat.

If you don't workout with the protein shake you'll literally just piss away all the money you spent on the protein.
If you drink the protein and work out, you may gain weight in muscle.

If you consume more calories than you use, you will gain weight. It's simple as that, you can still drink a shake and still lose weight. I know a lot of whey protein mix are very low in carbs and high in protein.

Protein is beef you up, yes. But so does Bacon, and in my opinion it tastes much better.
