I sprained my knee badly in March 2015. I was put on crutches for 2 weeks and given rehabilitation exercises for a month. I was told I could go back to my normal activity but my leg was still sore. We went back and the told me to stretch and move it more, the doctor said it might be still tight and if anything there could be a small tear. I started stretching it and it got a little better but I started dance again and my leg has all of a sudden gone down hill. The back part of my leg on both sides has a mostly dull, sharp pain. My knee cap gets like a tingly feeling and gets like numb. It's been popping more loudly and often too. The pain comes and goes, I can't jump on that leg alone and it sometimes hurts to lock it. I've been wearing my knee support and it doesn't seem to do much. My mom wants me to wear my immobilizer again but I have a performance in 2 weeks and I can't dance in it. It keeps my leg straight and from moving. Should I have it looked at again or go out and buy a hinged knee brace? I need to be able to preform. I can't miss the first performances.
Even in the unlikely event that a doctor will stumble upon your question, s/he will not give you advice based on a question without actually examining you properly.
Go back to your doctor, or get advice from another doctor (IN PERSON) if you're not satisfied with the first one.
