Period lasting 3 weeks! Whats going on?

For a couple of months now my period has been extremely abnormal. The first time this occured, my period lasted me 2 weeks with no symptoms but regular bleeding. Only difference in my bleeding is i've noticed more blood clots. I went a week without my period and now the same thing is happening and i'm on my 3rd week! Whats going on?

i'm not a doctor so i don't know but once i had a period lasting for 2 and half weeks. i went to the doctor and they said it was maybe due to a change in lifestyle ( exercising more or hormones), it never happened again so i guess i'm ok. but if yours has been often, you should defiantly go see your doctor ASAP because 3 weeks is a long time and having blood clots doesn't seem right either.

How old are you?

When i was 15 the same thing happened to me but mine last for a month. Went to the doctor and he said it normal for teenage girls, your body is still adapting to this whole menstruation thing

I'm 16 and i'v had my period since the 5th grade..

Yep that's totally normal at least thats what my doctor said. Try to ask your gynecologist

What sort of protection are you using?

My girlfriend period lasted 2 weeks due to 6 months on the injection

If its nothing to do with sex and pills..

Are you on any medications? That could be responsible

Or its just environmental factors

You have too much estrogen, go to a doctor to have them formulate a progesterone regimen for you.
