It's the principle of progressive overload. A lot of people make the mistake of thinking they have to go as heavy as possible without knowing why. You can do that depending on your end goal but you're likely to snap shit up.
Doing a curl with a large weight than your strength available means that if you're just about capable of curling it but your intention is to build biceps. You're likely using your whole back along with your arms to try to do a rep. ... whereas with a smaller weight. You can put the focus entirely into your bicep without stagnating it with using your whole back. The heavier weight will likely do little to a mild amount to your arms.
Slower is also better. The negative energy is good for stabilisation and pushing the fibres. You're not simply using momentum like someone that's doing it fast

Go hard everytime and you're on a one way trip to snap city.
Go slow and controlled , you increase time under tension , more time under tension equals more muscle fiber recruitment equals more muscle worked equals muscle microtears equals gains.
The gainz gods are cruel but fair. If you ego-lift , the only heaven you'll be going to is the hospital. If you do it controlled , you'll be on a slow train towards gains heaven.
(That's assuming they're not on juice , cos if they are on juice then well even if they don't train at all they'll be seeing gains anyway. Not as much as if someone train and go on juice but still comparable to full natties

Because they are building stronger muscles by going slowly and then doing a high rep amount until failure. That's how they got to br the biggest guys at the gym. And I'm sure if you watch more you'll see they typically will do heavy weights but only a few reps.
Sometimes it's not always about progression but rather maintenance.

because theyre cutting. if you do low weights at high reps, that's how you sculpted your body to look like this:

you go slowly to make the workout last longer, get more control and work on form, build up lactic acid and get a better workout.U answered your own question, they do it slow. Slow and good form is a lot more intense that blasting reps with heavy weights. It's negative reps it's very intense and I would bet their form is spot on. As soon as I sorted my form out so it was perfect instead of good my weights went down a lot but my size has gone up a ton
Because some people's bodies respond better to lower weight/ higher volume. Plus they are going slow because they are controlling the negative part of the movement which gives you one helluva pump
Do you mean this?
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EX2ofDwCwvothose guys are probably not trying to add anymore muscle
Well, when you're on cell tech you don't need to lift heavy to build muscle.
Heavey weights not important to build muscle it's important for strength it's important for power lifters only but some guys are strong naturally big or small what's important is clean diet and steroids if you want look super
We lift heavy weights for absolute strength and lift lighter weights in many repetitions for definition... show muscle.
The slow movement is controlled and pumps up more that just throwing around weight with no control
Because those guys know that it isn't about the show off part of how much you life.
It's about stepping up or down in weight and building the different reps to maximize size and strength. They take steroids, and thus they don't have to work as hard to build a lot of muscle.
Because that's how to gain mass!
They're training for hypertrophy not strength.
