What does he mean by this?

Last year my friend asked this guy I REALLY liked if he liked me back (she asked him despite me clearly telling her NOT to), and of course he said no. He said that he didn't really like any girl at the moment because he has never been in a relationship before and that he couldn't really date anyone right now because he was too young AND it was against his religion (This is actually true because I've done some research on his religion. Also, he did like several girls in the past, but never went out with them). However, I think he rejected me mainly because of my weight. He's a stick and I weigh like, 50-80 pounds more than him. Lol.

But he said something really confusing. My friend asked him if it was possible that he could EVER like me a few years from now. And he said, "Of course it's possible".

It's just really confusing

It isn't going to help but it could be one of three things. (Or any combination of the three.)

1. He actually feels like he can't date you because of his religion.

2. He likes you, he's just a pussy.

3. He doesn't like you but blames it on his religion instead of blaming it on Akon like the pros.

I'm putting my bets on #3, mainly because you always know when you like someone. It isn't required to have been in a relationship before.

so I believe you're infatuated with him, not love but whatever. the thing is, if weight is something you feel he is interested in seeing you change, why not go that route in a healthy way? lose some weight then if that's what you think he likes. also, see what other things he may like in a girl. and also, it might just be that he only sees you guys being only acquaintances with each other. not a big deal.
