Being overweight is not a crime and overweight people shouldn't be persecuted.

I think it's a tad bit unfair to shame anyone for anything. Say a smoker or a drinker who are addicted. Both for different reasons mostly likely and you have to fix the addiction which last I checked isn't easy. Add eating disorders or conditions like hypothyriodism, and losing weight is far from black and white.
So onto weight. The lady with the small amount of stonach fat is indeed curvy. Bust to waist to hip is a curve although there is some fat there and typically for bustier women, some stomach fat will come with it but its not unattractive or unhealthy. If she was larger yes it would be unhealthy but she seems fine to me. The stationary weight of people varire by genetics and environment so that might be hers who knows.
Onto the mothers. Now I'm no mother myself but I think that after having a baby grow inside of me (Not all pregnancies east, in fact most aren't) and popping out a watermelon to then raise such beautiful watermelon (lol) all of which are not easy you would expect to
the question is directed to women hence no examples of men as in my experience it is women who mostly do the fat shaming (same as slut shaming) and are the ones demanding fat acceptance.
I agree with fat acceptance as I don't want to say I promote it but in *special* cases I would accept them easier like the eating disorders and conditions. This includes food addictions. But if you're overweight because you're too lazy to eat right and exercise you have no excuse.
In my own experience men fat shame women more than women but that's just our different experiences. From male to male fat shaming I usually see the "Dude you're fat af lol" "Yeah ik, whatever". I just thought that that should have some representation :)
eating disorders and conditions? please enlighten me how many people suffer from that? %1 ? 10% 20% what about the rest are you telling me 1/3 of america is fat cause they are sick people? get real and stop being so naive, you're not gonna win an award for lying on the internet.
@CoolSky01 I'm not saying a lot do I'm just saying it adds to the situation as it's not black and white. If people are overweight just because the have a poor diet and don't exercise, then fat shame them all you want.
I'm just saying that diet and exercise can't cure all cases. Only reason I truly pointed it outbis because I used to suffer from hypothyroidism and an eating disorder and I know others who did as well
@CoolSky01 Seeing as I'm no longer overweight I'm struggling to find the reason as to why you think I want to feel special. My comment was simply to state that either weight gain or loss is not simple for everybody.
Being from a Scandinavian country (north europe), the average women is much skinnier here, and we see Americans that try to normalise being fat as completely insane and plain stupid. As an example we are 30 people in my class, and maybe 1 or 2 are just a bit overweight.
I feel like it's only in America that people try and make it "ok" and say that fat people are "curvy" when really they have so much fat on their bodies.
Where I'm from it's become more and more of a trend to eat healthily and most young people almost never eat fast food - it's also seen as kind of disgusting.
Being fat is unhealthy, and therefore it's obviously unattractive for the majority of people, end of discussion.
Scandinavia leads the way yet again.
I do agree with you!!! we all should alway think about our health... I was fat... with a lot of issues... the worst was bladder leakage... that luckily has stopped when I defenitly lost a lot of weight.
so girls... dont get fat!
I think that when it's a result of bad habits and laziness people should be ashamed, in the same way they'd be ashamed if they look like shit because they couldn't be bothered to wear clean clothes and shower.
Want to hear something crazy? even fit people get shamed, those stupid gym douchebag meatheads and fake instagram models that live (10 hours a week lol) at the gym and are so obsessed and unbalanced
shamed by who?

Basically body shaming is wrong.
Being too skinny is not good either. One has to maintain their ideal body weight, prescribed by the physician and not the modelling industry. Getting my point?
I see some 'fat' girls around who are trying really hard to lose weight but still they are target of jokes and snide comments... How wrong is that?
I see some skinny women who are criticised for being skinny... It's so wrong.
No one has right to make snide remarks on someone's body shape.
But we should not forget that being fat and being extremely skinny is unhealthy.
A fat person should lose weight. Not because it looks bad. It's what media feeds you, that fat people look bad.. This person should lose weight because he/she wants to live a healthier life.
All excellent points.
Absolutely. I don't think anyone is trying to argue that it's great to be morbidly obese, unless they're insane. Being healthy is important, for a lot of reasons. But that doesn't make body shaming okay. In addition, there is a big difference between being seriously overweight and simply not having the perfect body. The photos of the two moms with their kids that you posted? That's completely disgusting. Sure, if you're a stay at home mom with plenty of time to exercise and take care of yourself, you can look like a supermodel even after three kids, no problem. But not everyone is in that position. Many moms are busy, they're working, they have crazy schedules, they're juggling tons of different responsibilities and they're under a lot of stress. When you're raising children, your abs aren't always your top priority. And that is 100% okay.
in fairness now my wife was able to get back into shape after our four kids and its not like we had a nanny and maid
I'm not saying that getting in shape has to be a full time job. But there are a lot of factors. It's possible for lots of moms but for some, it's just not within reach. Being a single mom who works is probably the hardest. And even if you're not single, life can still be insane when you're raising multiple young kids. Being up all night, constantly on the go, etc. are not conducive to physical health. Genetics and predispositions to weight gain factor in as well. I'm not saying it's only the rich trophy wives who have tons of help who have time to stay in shape. But there are lots of cases where real life makes it really difficult to find time for that. Your wife was lucky, but that doesn't mean it's fair to compare others to her. And again, keep in mind the difference between being obese and simply not being super fit and toned. That is possibly the most important point that I'm trying to make.
we do need to stop normalising and celebrating obesity as a normal eay of life.
very true.
Shaming someone is wrong, yes, man or woman. I don't know their life and personal history to judge them. It could be a medical issue, due to medication, genetic, or yes an eating issue. Being obese is unhealthy, that is fact. But I'd rather use positive reinforcement to help motivate, then shame someone.
Any kind of body shaming is wrong. And being obese IS unhealthy. Thing is, people don't care about health. They care about what's pleasing to their eyes. At the end of the day that's what it's really about.
Agreed, obviously.
What I don't get is why you're directing this at "Ladies" specifically. Like it's only women who can be overweight or obese. 🙄
its more that its usually women that Fat shame or promote fat acceptance.
its true think about it
This clearly isn't about health otherwise it wouldn't just be directed at women. This is clearly an attempt to shame fat women. It's just as bad for a man to to be overweight so the onky reason just to direct this at women is misogyny.
The reason it's directed at women because you NEVER see fat acceptance directed at men. Why? It's landwhale feminists directing it
Fat man? Fat
Fat woman? A ton of euphemisms
Fat man? Hit the gym
Fat woman? You're beautiful the way you are
Dating a fat man? You can do better
Dating a skinny man? You go girl!
None of the fat acceptance trends are directed at men. I've never seen a fat man on the cover of a fashion magazine or fat male models, yet I've seen overweight and fat women
This isn't misogyny. This is noticing the trends of fat acceptance
Not at all its bad to be fat but from what I have witnessed is the biggest calls for for fat acceptance and the biggest perpetrators of fat shaming are women. Especially young women. Fat acceptance for men and women is wrong but then so is bullying people for being fat.
The reason fat acceptance is directed at woman is because it is a lot less socially acceptable for a woman to be fat. If you have a fat male character on the TV it's not a big deal and his weight is rarely mentioned. If you have fat female character on TV it's seen as ground breaking and the whole character and all the jokes revolve around her being fat.
As I said, fat acceptance isn't directed at men at ALL. The reasons why are actually irrelevant to the point and you confirmed it
You claim misogyny because it's directed to women. It's directed to the Fat Acceptance, but since it's ONLY targeted to women, it's logical to direct it to women
Feminists claim that it's all about equality, but fat acceptance is ONLY directed towards women. You claim it's less socially accepted, which I agree with, but that doesn't dismiss the male side of the spectrum. Males have body issues too, and men certainly get flak for being fat, more by women than men, but women don't give a shit about men's issues. Get to work, make the money then give it up
What you say basically dismisses one problem in favor of another when both can be addressed simultaneously. Why feed the homeless kids in America when kids are starving in Africa? Both sides can be addressed
Fat shaming is wrong and been fat is unhealthy. It's no ones business if you're fat. It's like a Heath condition, they don't go shaming you because you have an infection. Some people can't help been fat.
True but most people can and need help to lose weight. I too believe a person choosing to be overweight is their own business except when it affects other people's lives.
Having belly fat means you're not curvy? Um, excuse you.
it means your fat but thats not the point.
So what's curvy to you? A skinny model with boobs and ass?
size 14 is curvy. But a fat belly is obese.
I don't know what a size 14 is but I do not agree with you. Most people have belly fat, they're not considered fat. An average human being doesn't have Kendall Jenner's body.
thats were you are wrong go to Russia or Poland or mainland Europe and tou will not see many people with belly fat. who's kendell Jenner
I'm Greek. Greek women have mainly bigger thighs.
yes and good child bearing hips. That's not the same as fat.
Are you American Greek or Greek from greece living in Greece?
I'm Greek from Greece, living in Greece.đŸ˜‚ Here's how it works: when pear shaped women gain fat, it tends to go to the hips. But that doesn't mean that they have no fat on the belly. That doesn't make one fat. I have belly fat and I have thick thighs too, I'm chubby-curvy, not fat. It is what it is.
your only 18 so I suggest a diet and exercise or it will get worse especially if you accept it.
Not all people are supposed to be fucking skinny. I'm overweight by 7 kg so I don't give a crap. I'm 175cm tall and 82kg, I've accepted my body and I'm learning how to love it.
to love your body you need to look after it with healthy eating and exercise. Just look at what @girl7250 has to say and she's bang on the money.
Each to his own. You don't need to change yourself in order to love yourself.
You can't love yourself if you dont take care of yourself.
I take care of myself when I eat what I like, I do it to please me.
Thats ok but your only growing your waistline by giving yourself such self pleasure.
Nope. Maybe my thighs, buy not my waistline
But*
@CoolSky01 thank you for staying your opinion, next time shove it far up where the sun don't shine. I work out 4 hours a day, now bye!
Body shaming is 1000% wrong. No way around it. If you believe being obese is unhealthy, that’s a different and separate belief.
You say your against fat shaming but then post these type of meme pictures?
fat shaming is good. Shame people doing a bad thing until they stop doing said bad thing.
Because they don't already? They aren't stupid. They know they are fat, they know it's unhealthy and if you want them to lose weight and become healthy then making them feel like shit and unmotivated to do anything isn't gonna help.
I don't see how any one could disagree with that statement.
Completely agree
