If a guy is overweight, should he wait until he loses the weight to start flirting with girls?

Let's say he knows girls are more attractive to physically-fit guys, and he's taking the steps to address his "beer-belly", and is starting an exercise program. He really wants a girlfriend. Should he wait a month or two, when he looks physically better, to start approaching and flirting with girls?

And if he SHOULD wait, how can he occupy himself in the meantime and distract himself from "wanting" a girlfriend? What if he has NO friends and doesn't get out much?

I wouldn't wait. I really don't think that it is a matter of confidence but when you meet another girl don't you want to know in your mind that this girl isn't just going out with you based on looks? I would rather go out with someone who likes my personality then someone who just going out with me for the way I look.

And If you are a nice guy I'm sure there is a great girl out there for you - you just got to keep hanging on.

If I really liked a guy and he was very nice to me and I liked him back, I honestly wouldn't care if he were a bit overweight. You can always change your weight... the way you act towards someone is what most people cannot change AND is what counts the most. Your actions are what people are most likely to remember. Don't feel self-concious about anything, have confidence and everything will work it's self out beautifully.

In all seriousness, I think you should flirt if you feel confident enough to. If you are not confident in yourself and you think losing weight is going to help that, wait 'til you lose the weight.
