Can dancing help lose belly fat???

can dancing help? I just want to loose fat from my belly...should I do dancing? HELP!

Depends on the kind of dancing. I suggest something that crunches your stomach together. One thing I find is effective for me is doing a round of various exercises, and repeating.

For example, you can try doing a 10 minutes of biking, or jogging, followed by, 10 push ups, 10 sit ups, 10 jumping jacks, 10 crunches, and then 2 laps around the block (your choice of jogging, running, or power walking, though don't go too slowly). When you're done all that do it all over again until you've repeated all these things 5 times. If you live in an apartment building I also suggest using the stairs. To keep things from getting too boring I say keep some music running. Maybe a walklman, a CD, MP3 player, or an iPod. Another thing you can do is keep a friend or relative around to push you and keep you from slacking off, and over all encourage you to keep moving. The point is, for that time that you're doing all that exercise, you should keep moving until the workout is done.

If you really want to do the whole dancing thing specifically I seem to recall that Carmen Electra had a set of DVDs a few years ago called Carmen Electra Aerobic Striptease, but beyond that I am not sure I can help.

Dancing will help. But if you want to lose fat, and see the results faster, you will need to join a gym or other activites and eat healthy.

A strong ammount of cardio

Fruits and veggies + multivitamins

Make sure you workouts and cardio are consistent (Day to day, not every 2-3 days)

Make sure not to overdo yourself (if you injur yourself, you won't be able to workout)

Find something to entertain you while you work out, making it more enjoyable.

Losing fat is easier than gaining muscle. If you want to lose fat MORE EFFICIENTLY WHILE GAINING MUSCLE, simply focus a reasonable effort on cardio (average->strong effort) and also add in some muscle routines. Get that physique you've always wanted, some rock hard abs maybe, even a juicy butt.. Just remember to work your entire body and not just certain parts.

yeah I think that dancing can help a bit, but I generally found that it just works a little more on flexibility, balance and muscle strength. To lose fat I think that the best way is to go running, or do a combination of running, cycling/bike riding and some strength work, or even yoga. pretty much if you work on strengthening the muscles you should lose weight, because it will generally decrease your fat mass. However, you can't just try to lose it from one area of the body. It all goes at around the same time. I will say though that it isn't a very good idea to do a million and one sit ups or crunches to try and get rid of stomach fat, as its horrible for your posture/back, and at the end you just feel like you never want to do them again. I reccomend perhaps doing something like a plank where you maintain the position for a minute or two. good luck! :)

Yes it can, cardio. And if you get really into it, it's HARDCORE cardio. It really can not only help bring the stomach down but can also improve brain stimulation and help lower stress. It's the best medicine besides laughter. Also, if you are one to drop it low, you can build butt and thigh muscles. Good times..

Its not possible to target specific areas when losing fat, the only way to lose fat is to burn more calories than your taking in, and you can do that with dancing, running, or jumping on your bed as long as you do it enough.

It can help a little bit. It is physical activity so it will help burn calories. If I want to lose weight though, I'm gonna be on a treadmill or jogging. I've been slacking on my gym routine as of late.

Hard work, starting with daily running to help burn calories, no desserts, and a lot of core exercises such as at a circuit training class at a gym.

Any sort of cardio will help you to loose fat. So yes dancing should help if you o it enough. I would recommend doing different kinds of exercises as well.

Dancing is a great workout to lose all kinds of fat and strengthen muscles. It does depend on the type of dance. Different dances effect different parts of the body.
