Sweet tooth on a "fat loss" journey?
I've ate fruits and greek yogurt and it has't helped at all..
I am a guy who used to take 10-12 teaspoons of artificial sugar (4 in milk and 6 in banana shake) with cookies and 300 ml of soda every day. As soon as I started gym, I realised that I have to cut off the sugar, otherwise all of my efforts are worthless. I was feeling weak in the gym. So, I stopped taking soda at all and cut down artificial sugar to a maximum of 4 teaspoons (1 each in 2 glasses of milk & 2 in banana shake). I realised that the change is helping me to reach my goals, the changes are miraculous. I got addicted to those changes rather the sugar. I was feeling more energetic and burning fat ridiculously. I was feeling sad tho, because my mind was not habitual to those changes. (But I did something which I'll describe in the last para).
Now, I require less than half the sugar I wanted in food. I started finding the things too sweet which I used to consider normal. That took me only 3-4 months. You can alter your cravings. You just need 3-4 months of cravings. Determination and dedication of only a quarter year.
NEVER eat ice cream. It is worse than soda.
Alternatively, you can take stevia. It is a sugar-free solution for your cravings. Keep taking fruits. Use diet soda. Consume a lot of fibrous food. You could also take Garcinia Cambogia supplement to suppress your appetite. Use Jaggery (it is less harmful and has other health benefits). Take flavoured protein shakes. They are sweet but not too sweet to halt your progress. They will give you boost to take on those heavier days. Have a cheat meal every Sundays. Give your body little rewards every week to keep yourself motivated.

These changes worked for me. Good luck :)
I don't drink soda at all. I've cut that out of my diet over a year and a half ago. But I will try those options out, thank you!
look at sugar free diet... the irony is you can lose weight while eating fatty food and your energy levels will go through the roof. i have been totally sugar free for three weeks. eaten loads and lost an inch off my middle aged spread. dont believe me? watch a documenatry called 'the sugar film'.
I eat mangos, theyre VERY sweet. So that will definitely satisfy your sweet cravings. It has mine, and I LOVEEE chocolate... I've gained weight because of chocolate but I told myself chocolate doesn't control me and you know what? I haven't eaten a chocolate bar since June! You can do it.
Get honeycrisp apples. They're sweet and so good and likely different from the fruit you've been trying. That always helps with my sweet tooth (whether it be during my period or not). You can also try coconut (milk, water, etc.) it's incredibly sweet and I love it.

You're screwed. There's no replacement for ice cream, donuts, cheesecake, and whatever other desserts they eat in Heaven. However, have you tried drinking four cups of black coffee? After that much caffeine, I don't think you'll want to eat anything -- including sweets.
Drink more water. Your body craves sugar when it's mildly dehydrated. If you don't think that is it, a cheat day can be beneficial but do it immediately post workout as that's when glycogen storage will be depleted and insulin levels are down. Boosting insulin post workout will aid in muscle growth itself
Eat more fruit then. Its sweet and healthy. Try dried fruits, like figs or dates (but not the sugured variation only the dried one)
A great way to maintain a healthy diet is to allow a cheat meal every now and then, like lets say once on a weekly basis. Many people do it like this. Or on a monthly basis, thats maybe better for you. Anyways, best of luck with your journey.
