Guys, is stomach fat unattractive?

I'm really fit but still trying to get my diet under control and so my body fat is still quite high. I'm really self conscious of my pot-belly. I guess it's a a layer of fat about an inch thick and there is more fat in the middle than on the sides. My ex wouldn't sleep with me because of my weight gain. I've lost about 45 pounds since then but still some to go but I've hit a plateau. I know he was a jerk, hence him being an ex, so want a real opinion...
Guys, is it unattractive for a woman to have some body fat, like a pot belly?

Excessive amounts of adipose tissue is a definitive turn off for men. I would venture a guess it would be as well for women to a degree. Well designed training programs can burn fat and build muscle in tandem with SMART eating (that doesnn't have to include deprivation either...) Too much cardio is a big no no, imho due to the catabolism associated with it. Remember muscle burns fat on auto-pilot so your focus should be on that first and foremost with conditioning circuits (P. A. C. E. aka H. I. I. T) on other days for EPOC. Keep up the gains coming brosephs and brasephettes!

My training program has been designed by a pro. It's just my diet that I can't stick to - emotional eating. So the question is whether it's unattractive

Great question, congratulations on losing 45 pounds so far. The last cells, called the beta cells, are the most stubborn and often linger around the lower to mid stomach. These can take extreme measures to rid. i'd be more than happy to give you some of my personal training experience on how to get rid of that. However it definitely can be unattractive on men or woman

I'm struggling with the same issue. I've lost like 20 pounds and hit a plateau. My arms and legs are quite thin, my shoulders are bony and I have visible hip bones, but the belly fat just doesn't go away. It might be genetic to retain some of it. I have never had a guy tell me that my stomach looked unattractive, even back when it was a bit bigger than it is now. I think it's fine unless you like don't see your feet anymore.

I still have a bit of fat on arms and hips but a fair bit on the stomach. I do still want to cut down some fat but I think I will be like you where the stomach fat will still be there even if I am really thin everywhere else. My ex was the only one who told me I was unattractive cos I was over weight. I don't recall any other guy saying anything. I guess I am just self conscious about it

if its someone that loves you than no.. it could rather turn them on (my boyfriend loves me for who iw as. I gained 7 kgs when i dated him.. love grows stronger everyday still) advice- find a man not a boy that will treat you better

Yeah true. I guess the point is age is no reflection on a guy's maturity since my ex was late 30's and clearly a jerk.

I think it's unattractive to most guys depending on how much you have. Like a little pooch won't turn off most guys, but if you look like you're pregnant than that might pose a problem.

grl don't lose weight to make yourself more attractive to men. lose weight to be healthy, happy and to love your image. tbh a fit and healthy body will be more attractive then a unhealthy body. to any gender. after you start to go to the gym you'll start to enjoy it after some time, it happened with me

Maybe its because you're building muscle while you're losing the fat? I stepped off the scale a few years ago and started measuring myself instead. It says a lot more about your health than any scale could ever tell you.

@Emmdk yes I am building a bit of muscle but the clothes aren't any looser even though some people have told me I look like I've lost weight. It's a great tho.

It varies. I don't mind a little but of chubbiness or thickness. It can be cute depending on the girls build, especially if she's got a nice face and build.

I only find it to be a turn off if the girl has a huge gut where she always looks pregnant, has rolls or a double chin. That's when it's a turn off.

Yes, BUT you're doing something about it and that is an attractive quality in itself.

Excessive stomach fat is unattractive. Some and even a little extra is just fine. Sometimes even better depending on the girls build.

It depends on how it's distributed through the body. Are the hips bigger than the stomach? If you have big tits, a big ass, big hips, you can have a somewhat bigger stomach. If you're small everywhere with a gut, that will be unaesthetic

Thanks for your response. True no one is perfect. I do work really hard at gym but only get there for 3 sessions a week and can't seem to burn off what I eat. I start each day with the best intentions. It then I get stressed (usuallly at work) and then tend to eat bad food.

The less you have, the better - at least the more healthier you'd likely be. However, I would still be with a woman that has stomach fat. I have some myself. Even if I worked out and lost some weight, I'd still have some stomach fat. Same with you.

Thanks for your response. I actually work out really hard, 3 sessions a week. It just not enough to burn off everything I eat but I eat when I get stressed (mostly at work).

Cut carbs. The problem is I stray a bit too often so the question is how unattractive is it really

its not attractive to me and also more importantly not so healthy. i personally cut sugar. its not as easy as it sounds to go sugar free but its worth the work as sugar inhibits your bodies ability to use fats. hence a build up of fat in areas such as your belly. im on the same calorie intake as before bit losing inches off my waist faster than any other diet i have tried plus i never feel hungry

it is tough and sugar addiction is a thing as it fires endorfins in the brain like any other drug but if you home cook you can replace refined sugars with natural sweetners like honey or maple syrup to satisfy your sweet tooth. i love sugar free banoffee pie right now... yummy. also some cards are ok... especially pasta as its held into the food longer during digestion so isn't released into the body so much ;) wholewheat pasta has no sugar and the added fibre is very good for normal digestion by the human body. cut down on saturated fats though and eat less meat

Just have to give it up and be tough. Thanks for the tips to try honey and maple syrup - I will try that as a substitute. I use a little honey in cooking sometimes at the moment.

little sweets... whole peanut butter (no added sugar or salt so not sunpat) mix with maple syrup or honey. roll half a ping pong ball size portion in melted chocolate (90% cocoa no sugar) and then roll in coconut flakes. keep in the fridge and there's your snickers replacement.
