Answers so far are missing the point. A murmur is an unusual whooshing sound made by turbulent blood. And that can be a serious problem. BUT, it may not be serious, so do not jump to conclusions. And EKG will help with the rhythym oddity, but the murmur will likely need a cardiac ultrasound to determine the cause. It is performed just like the fetal ultrasounds are, just higher. They likely will not be able to do it right away, so they will need to schedule it. In the meantime, you have probably had it a long time, but it was just now noticed, so there is no need to worry while waiting. I had a murmur discovered years ago, and the cause of it is getting worse over the years, but they are just watching it till something needs to be done. It may be in your case that nothing needs to be done.

Maybe palpitations or anxiety. Palpitations can be treated no worry and sometimes anxiety causes it. Just relax and get the test they're there to help you.
Not likely. You'd be put on a heart monitor for a week to record your heart rate and go from there.
They'll check your basic vitals for sure, maybe draw some blood or do a chest xray.
