I'm no rocket scientist... but... it's sounds logically correct... I could definitely be wrong... now getting rid of what CAUSED the fever is another conversation..
smh... read what u just wrote... our bodies sweat to lower and rid a fever... we can speed the process up by soaking in a hot bath. put aan amount of clothes on.. etc... smh. Ur arguing with what ur saying... cause I'm literally saying the same... just in different words. chill dude.
I say let her do it. The least she could be doing is place-boing herself into getting better. As long as she is not actively putting herself in danger let her act crazy.
Works for me. If I want to get rid of crud fast, I put on a sweater and jogging pants. Turn up the temp to an unbearable temp and get under the covers.
There are natural ways. You can boil water, then pour it into a glass and add camomile in it. After that put the cup on the table, take a towel. Look down on the cup, cover your back of the head and neck with the towel, and breathe in the water with camomile for 10-15 minutes. Just be careful when the water is hot, when you think it is too hot, don't breathe it in until its a little colder. This method works and my mom always told me to do this when I was younger. There is an another method: eat a lot of vitamin C. You can squeeze one or two lemons into a cup and then drink the whole glass of lemon juice/acid. The cold will go away in no time.
@ZomboCom That's a "feel good" way. I don't think it cures but if you believe it you'll more easily get over the cold. Others prefer punch. Same effect.
When you get handed a lemon, make lemonade, as they say. :)
But still, the method 1 I told is effective. It is not a placebo method. After 4 minutes of breathing in that stuff your nose is not stuffed anymore. Another 5 minutes later you start coughing very hard until you spit out the phlegm. After another 5 minutes cold goes away pretty much.
you can help your body fight the cold. it's more of an exorcise thing. the sweating is just reaction. body heats up, body sweats to cool off. what happens internally for this to happen is a whole different shish kabob.
You can't sweat a virus out of your body, your immune system stops the pathogens and then the dead white blood cells are removed from the body through the blood by your kidneys and liver.
Sweating will just dehydrate you, your body increases its temperature when you are sick to help fight the virus. Viruses dont replicate as well in higher temperatures.
@NightOwl_23 because I have had it with you walking around thinking you are so cool oh look at me everybody im nightowl dont I looks so cool look at me everybody!

she can sweat out a fever... but a cold? never heard that one...
Not to sound like a know it all but the body sweats when you have a fever to lower the temperature it has nothing to do with getting rid of the fever.
lol.. a fever is literally the rise of tempeture... so tell me how lowering the temp isn't getting rid of the high temp aka fever?
I'm no rocket scientist... but... it's sounds logically correct... I could definitely be wrong... now getting rid of what CAUSED the fever is another conversation..
A fever is the bodies reaction to a pathogen, our bodies then sweat to lower the temperature back to normal.
The pathogens ie viruses and bacteria are killed by our immune systems and then filtered out by the body through the liver, colon and kidneys.

Sorry, I feel like an idiot now 😔
I was arguing with someone else earlier about this.
👌u good.
this could work out actually and most opinions explain it perfectly
You can't sweat out a cold because it does not remove the virus that causes the cold. Just give it time, the cold will go away
I say let her do it. The least she could be doing is place-boing herself into getting better. As long as she is not actively putting herself in danger let her act crazy.

maybe she has a fever and feel cold. Better take her tempeture.
Personally don't think you "sweat it out" so much as you feel infinitely better when you get huffing and puffing and working up a sweat.
If you know meds that will heal a cold, please, inform us.
All I know is waiting till it's over, in maximum comfort.

It always helped me though :) However it won't work for everyone probably.
@ZomboCom Many people get helped by this:

Don't overdose!
I mean, placebo is empty. It doesn't do anything, it's just peoples' brains that do the job
But still, the method 1 I told is effective. It is not a placebo method. After 4 minutes of breathing in that stuff your nose is not stuffed anymore. Another 5 minutes later you start coughing very hard until you spit out the phlegm. After another 5 minutes cold goes away pretty much.
Sweating out a sickness is not possible. If anything, heating up her body to the point of sweating would most likely make her sicker.
you can sweat out a cold but she needs rest and fluids 2 best solution would be for her to get bed rest with a heavy blanket and a pitcher of water
Sometimes our body naturally develops a high temperature in order to get rid of an illness, but forcing it to heat up won't help.
I heard it works but it never did for me. Maybe she's done it before. Most people use a sauna too

it's true, when you sweat you're getting rid of toxins and bacteria, it has helped me
No your Kidneys and Liver are responsible for removing toxins from your body not sweat.

well it sure works for me

You need bed rest and plenty of water when you are sick.
No! You cannot sweat out a cold! Sorry, but that's BS!
Thank you dr. adam.
@Regular1 my name isn't Adam. It's my first initial and my last name. I'm not a doctor, but I am a nurse.
And you're pretty hot too. I would bone you.
Eh its not hurting anyone, just make sure she keeps hydrated i guess lol.
Haha i've heard of it before but I don't know if it works
It doesn't it is an old wives tale
@NightOwl_23 you are a old wives tale
What?
@NightOwl_23 you are a what?
Why did you say, Im an old wives tale?
@NightOwl_23 yes, I did say that and I will not take it back
Why?
@NightOwl_23 because I have had it with you walking around thinking you are so cool oh look at me everybody im nightowl dont I looks so cool look at me everybody!
thats you by the way
Okay then, I dont but whatever.
@NightOwl_23 have a great day
just kidding dont have a great day
Lol she's ridiculous and looks ridiculous. Thats an old wives tale. Just rest and fluids.
It's loads of bullshit and it can make you more sick with dehydration.
well she looks stupid. BUT yeah that works. its not safe because it can spike the fever to dangerous heights but it definitely works.
