Clubs are dying out. Guys aren’t putting up with the club bs. Now women go to gyms in tight pants to find men/feel the rush of rejecting a guy. So an all female thing won’t work in the long tun

It's ok. We can understand their problem😅.
But women also workout at that time only.
Gyms can be separated but there will be a limit. Gym owners will think about their investment & income.
How many women go to gym?
Their income will be very less if it's only for women.
Female only hours is difficult for those women who is at job because they are also comfortable at the regular time.

At least part of it is that they are just self aware and insecure. It’s primarily *their* mind running wild about what everyone around them is thinking. And then the second part is letting that bother them.

Girls will look at other girls too, they just don’t let it bother them because they’re too fixated on the men.

It’s annoying that I as a guy can’t have an equivalent environment.

Maybe because I always went to non crappy gyms or maybe it's because I don't dress like a basic ho but I've never been bothered at the gym.

I understand that you're sweating when you're working out, but it doesn't mean women should wear tiny shorts and sports bras.

I go to a reputable gym, its a leisure centre so the focus is on families. The gym is a grest spot and offers so much and they have several studios that also does a full range of fitness classes. What i hate is that, the people that go to pure gym and the cheaper ones are now coming to this one with their aggressive behaviour. They are arrogant and self absorbed and that is why they behave like douches, they prey on women at the gym intimidating them thinking they are 'all that' but they are not. You have just written garbage that perpetrates what rapists say, she was dressed like she was easy. Etc most decent men don't behave like that, some look from a far, and thats not the issue its the ones that make you feel objectified.

As long as it didn't interfere with my workout schedule, I'd be fine with it. If it caused a problem, I'd get my money back and go somewhere else. I built a gym in my basement, though, so I don't have to worry about about all the problems of a commercial gym.

well i try to compete with the guys on the gym lol so I don't know... but for many girls , its an issue , we need to wear comfortable cloths , and the best ones in the options are yoga pants and sports bra or whatever , and u get those guys staring at you all the fucking time...

and thats so disturbing... some of them even click pictures of the girls working out ,.. so i think it ll be better having female only hours at the gym

I don’t really care. I haven’t been to the gym enough to really notice. I typically don’t go to the gym because they’re far and scattered around. But if it will help other women then I think it will be good to implement as well as for guys.

Yeah... no. Fuck them and their stupid ideas in that case-- if a gym makes me pay full membership dues and then not allow me to work out at times when they're open, I'll tell them to give me my money back or I'll sue them.

It wouldn't protect women from rude men, since most men are sweet and only some are jerks. We should talk about dealing with the occasional jerk and ban men. It is just sexist.

Fuck that idea! If they want to be among themselves - they can set up a place just to their liking. Why molest and bother other people because some individual 'has a problem'? It's really SO simple: 'if you don't like it: go somewhere else'

Woman find their bodies scrutinized, commented upon, or shamed so much at some gyms that it's impossible to just comfortabley get some exercise.

If the girls want the gym to themselves because they're too insecure to have people looking at them then go ahead. doesn't affect me, but the gym will lose money on people that quit because of their decision.

I think female only gyms are a good idea for women that feel that way. I'm not for segregating by sex generally though. You find that in backward Muslim countries a lot. Things can go down hill pretty fast.

Reduce men's rights because of women's feelings? Thats wrong on so many levels.

What if these specific hours are the only timeframe a man could visit a gym? Should he just accept, that he can never go to this gym at this time?

They’d be better off on a private island free of men except for when they want booty calls. Like really. I don’t think that’s too far from the reality.

Omg they had a female only gym called Her Fitness where I live. Best gym ever! I live in a really small “city” emphasis on city because it might as well be a country little town. Everyone knows everyone and I hated going to the gym and seeing boys I went to school with. They are renovating so they are closed for a while but I wish we had that where I live 😭

I found it hypocritical to want female-only gyms (or hours), while at the same time complaining about male-only clubs, or boy scouts only allowing boys. So one-gender clubs/activities are only ok when it benefit you? That's not how the world works.

As a young lady, I think it's unfair. I would suggest more to have a separate weight lifting room for women only if it makes them uncomfortable to have men around them. But men deserve to be able to workout as well whenever they want to.

Sexism, you wouldn't have white people only hour that's 100% racist. So we shouldn't allow women only hour on the same preface.

Gym security should be able to cope with the "opportunists" (in both genders)

I can agree, however in the Netherlands we have female zones only in few gyms, so men cannot even see the females working out, let alone enter the area. So i don't think it's needed with events going on here.

I'm curious about how they would feel about "men only" hours. Imagine you're a dude and the only convenient time for you to go to the gym is that time. In my opinion, it's idiotic. You go to a "public" place, people will look at you.

I get it. If it's only one or two hours out of a whole day I don't see why it should be that big of a deal.

Because some people only have one or two hours a day available to them?

For starters, it's probably unlikely that the only time a man can go to the gym is during that one or two hours. You see it as guys having to work around two hours, but think about it the other way too. Girls who want to go during female-only hours have to work around all the hours that aren't female-only.

But like I said I don't think a lot of people have a schedule that tight. And if you do, then just go to another gym. I live in a really small area and even here there's at least five gyms within a fifteen minute drive.

It actually isn't all that unlikely. As for going to another gym, some people use public transport or bike everywhere so they'd want a place close to them. You mention that girls who want a girls only hour would WANT to work their schedule around those hours but guys would be HAVE to if the want to go to the gym. I mean you said going at a different time shouldn't be a big deal but is going when guys are present really that big of a deal?

I don't think most people would have a problem working around two hours out of fifteen available hours (most of the gyms in my area are open from about 5-8 that's where I got 15 hours). And yeah some people do want to go somewhere close, but I think if it's that important to you that you have to workout during those specific two hours then driving a few minutes to another gym shouldn't be a huge deal.

And to some women, going when men aren't there is a big deal. The same reason why many gym classes in school aren't co-ed. People just want to work out in peace.

I don't see anything wrong with having a guys-only hour too.

If you don't have a car it is a big deal. As for working out in peace well if someone's harassing you then you can report them and get their membership revoked.

Yeah, but it happens to people repeatedly by different men. It's just the fact that some women are uncomfortable working out somewhere where they keep getting creepy stares. Obviously these gyms that are implementing these hours are having a problem with the women reporting it, otherwise they wouldn't have even suggested making women-only hours.

Also, if you don't have a car I think you should be doing something else with your time other than going to the gym. Just my opinion.

Well people some people staring at you is a crappy reason to try to get a whole set of people excluded for a given amount of time. I mean guys stare at me all the time when I exercise but I don't let that get to me. You just do your thing and ignore what others do. And even if you do have a car driving that extra distance over time puts a lot more wear and tear on it.

Well I'm sorry some bad apples had to ruin it for the whole. Maybe instead of ridiculing the gym, ridicule the creepy pervs who ruin it for everyone else.

Very few gyms have implemented it at this point so there isn't much to ridicule there. But ridiculing the pervs and the people who want to exclude everyone because of them aren't mutually exclusive.

My opinion is somewhere between "fuck no" and Sure if those hours are not on the busy hours and if my membership fee is cut by the percent those hours make up of the total operating time.

I’ve been groped by men at the gym and stared at so I would like having female only hours. I recently signed up to a female only gym bc the men at my old gym are fucking trash with no respect.

Its a good thing, sum girls might be feel insecure about how much weight theyre moving compared to a guy , I've seen it before. I think it would encourage girls to exercise more often.

Than maybe girls should wear more conservative exercise gear rather than clothing that is meant to be tight and attractive
