You are putting the cart before the horse. You said you are going in for SINGING...not MODELING.So I don't understand having to lose weight BEFORE you go in. I don't think it's necessary,but if that makes you feel better then I guess do it if you are indeed over weight and you're doing it for your health.I on the other hand believe that your talent should be and will be of greater importance on your audition.

what is your height and weight now? are you considered healthy, overweight, or obese? it really depends. if you are a normal height and weight and are aiming to be stick skinny, go as you are. if you are grossly obese, try to lose the weight, but not for the purpose of the audition, but because it will make you healthier overall
It's never bad to lose weight to become healthier. As long as you are doing it in a healthy manner then go for it. Find some kind of exercise you love and go for it. It can't hurt.
