I’m not a big fan of the aesthetics of body hair on anyone tbh, myself included. But I’m also from that Abercrombie & Fitch generation lmao, so everyone has hairless faces and torsos, ideally. That probably doesn’t mesh with this younger generation’s beauty standard, with the recent beard fad and all, haha. I draw the line at my armpits, legs, and arms though. I shave my chest, stomach, and for the most part, my no-no zone lmao. I don’t shave any other body hair, but I do trim my armpits so I don’t look like I have Clay Matthews in a headlock. My face, I trim that down but leave stubble so I don’t look 14 (maybe at my age I should consider that again though lmfao), but I’m really not into the whole facial hair trend, I’d rather people actually know what my face truly looks like haha.
As for women, I’m used to dealing with gals of the same generation, so generally we’re talking no hair below the eyebrows. My girlfriend got laser removal done downstairs on herself, then just shaves her armpits and legs (I think she wants to go back to get those areas lasered too). She’s five years younger but basically of that same generation.
I never really think of it so much as a hygiene issue as much as simply an aesthetic issue, maybe save for shaving my junk in the hot months. I’m personally just not very hairy to start with, plus I’m blond so the hair is light and less noticeable. Like if I didn’t shave my chest for a few months and you saw me with my shirt off, you’d need to be like no more than four or five feet away from me to even know I had chest hair lmfao, it’s so light and patchy. You can’t see it from a distance, haha. Plus the hair itself is kind of fine and doesn’t seem like bona fide chest hair. So I shave it for that reason too, because I feel like you kinda gotta either have chest hair or not, there’s no middle ground (minus dark and thick chest hair being trimmed short like the dude you have pictured).

I don't accept the idea that body hair on either sex is inherently unhygienic. What real difference would there be between the hair on our heads and body hair when it comes to hygiene? I can tell you that when I workout (especially in the summer) my head sweats. So the thing with body hair isn't a hygiene issue; it's a cultural/aesthetic issue. And even though pubic hair isn't mentioned in your question, I accept the views of dermatologists and other doctors that pubic hair actually serves a protective role that is at least somewhat related to hygiene. (Although I support people feeling free to either keep or remove their pubic according to their preference free of any cultural or fashion pressure.)
I personally don't care weather or not people decide to shave or not. I personally do it for comfort reasons. If I found someone who didn't shave I wouldn't be phased, intact I would most likely congratulate them on their courage.
Regarding the unhygienic thing, a recent survey done in the US found more than half of women who groomed their pubic hair did so for hygiene reasons, despite evidence that shaving pubic hair can make the vagina more vulnerable to irritation and infection. The online survey involved more than 3,000 women. It asked them the reasons they shaved (if they did). A key finding was that 59% of women who reported grooming their lady bits said they did so because they thought it would make their vagina "cleaner" or "more hygienic".
However, like most things we have on the body, pubic hair does have a purpose. It acts as a barrier, protecting against potentially harmful bacteria and viruses entering the body. And the regular act of shaving can lead to skin irritation and damage. While you may decide to shave your public hair for aesthetic reasons, you should be aware that there are no health benefits, with the exception of preventing pubic lice.
Having hairs doesn't make you unhygienic, but specifically on armpits and private area, removing the hairs there makes it easier to clean up any buildup of sweat and other things that could especially lead to unpleasant odor. This applies to both genders.
And who voted that men can be unhygienic? Ewwwwww

We have an "instinkt" that if it stinks its bad. Armpit bush is one of them. Even if I'm man, a stinky armpit on somebody will make me want run away.. far far away. Simple solution. at least trim armpit hair. If not for you, at least for others. Armpit stink and fart smell are on about same scale of discomfort to me. by the way, accidental fart is okay, but it's best practice to blow the bomb away from the people to reduce impact.
Sorry if you find the answer rude but I'm just being honest. Because I wouldn't say this to a stranger's face but only to a closest friend. And gag friends I see like that.I don’t dislike arm and leg hair on women because it’s “unhygienic.” It’s not. When I say it’s gross, I mean it’s just generally unattractive, because I consider body hair to be a masculine characteristic. Masculine characteristics on women and feminine characteristics on men are unattractive.
Its only unhygienic if you don't wash (as hair does hold onto moisture and by extension creates a good home for bacteria if you don't wash it). That said the reason why its unattractive on women is because we associate hairiness with men not women (just like we associate muscle with men not women).
It's Unhygenic Shaving Armpits and Legs. When I got Breast Cancer for the third time they told me to stop shaving and stop using Antiperspirant Deodorant. There are more Natural Deodorants on the market and that you can use in your home. So I haven't shaved since 2016. I've always been lucky never got much hair just a very faint stub here and there I have to magnify them to my Fiance and Doctors...
Armpit hair is unhygienic on both men and women, everyone should shave armpit hair without question.
Leg hair, that's a personal preference.
I shave mine, because even though I don't really notice it ever getting sweaty I still find it ugly.
And I prefer women's legs to also be shaved for the same reason. So guys, you want women to shave body parts where it is normal to grow hair but you wouldn't do the same? Long armpit hair is gross on anyone, I would prefer people keep it shaved or at least short most of the time. Same about any other body hair, keep it short, regardless of your gender. Long messy hair is not hot on anyone, beards included.
I shave mine and my genitals. My body odor is much better since I started doing it. My ex is Muslim and they are obligated to do it so I did it to make her feel comfortable. I didn't convert for t her. Thankfully was circumcised already. My religion does it after a week after we're born. I continued after we divorced.
Armpit hair is unhygienic for either gender when it's hot. I was hesitant to shave my armpits when my partner suggested it, but she was right.
When I've shaved them I don't even need deodorant, which is great because of my sensitive skin.
Leg hair, kind of a turn off when I'm holding a woman by the ankles, but not really a big deal. No, it's just hair. As long as it's kept clean, there's nothing unhygienic about it. Even if you shaved, you'd still be unhygienic if you didn't properly clean yourself, so I don't think a presence of hair or not really matters.
If you have a problem with men sweating their juices all over, baby, then go lez. We're men, we sweat, we juice all over you when making love to you, baby. Get used to it or go play with girls thereafter. I'm tired of holding back my juices.
If any body hair on either sex was unhygienic it would have evolved out by now by mutation.
I assume it's unhygienic since it collects a lot of sweat. I don't mind however, I would touch it on a girl I like/love if there would be a reason to do so :D
It's not unhygienic. As long as you regularly shower and keep clean. Both should keep hair trimmed in certain areas for aesthetic purposes, but it's not gross if you let it grow out every once in a while as long as you stay clean and don't stink.
It's not unhygienic but it does trap sweat and other scents. That's why I shave a lot of my body hair when I'm running very long distances it gets... Um. Swampy.
I want to say no, our bodies grow hair for a reason but as to how that looks with grooming that's another story
lots of guys wax or shave sone areas like chest arm pits back belly legs an some don't but I think it ms up to each person to decide what works for the guy
my boyfriend takes like 6 showers a day specially in the summer time so I don’t have that problem.
Only if the armpit hair were to accidentally float onto someone’s drink lid, who you happen to dislike.
Regarding sweat, I think I get my sweat and in general my fluids over my girl almost on purpose. It's always fun to see their reaction, they are lovely.
I'm surprise by this pole. Women hair is purely esthetic for men. But most women I have been with and told them that all body hair was fine with me. Continue to remove most of their body hair... Women paradox.
