it really depends on the atmosphere if your talking something like a candle light dinner under the stars and its only the first date then yeah no that's just creepy but if your going for the casual dinner and a move at home situation then yeah it does seem kind of cheep so finding the middle ground between the two is a little hard; however, if you have been seeing each other for a couple months then a nice candle light dinner would be romantic so you see its really a question of how long have you been dating.

Not at all, it's really good, you have a nice skill that most guys don't, I mean, I know some guys that would starve to death if someone doesn't cook for them. And It's really sweet the fact that you cook for her, it will make her feel special, and you can get more privacy than in a noisy restaurant.
Anything that takes work, planning, and effort will ALWAYS be better than just going out and paying for some dinner somewhere. Even a night in where you make pasta and a small desert will go a long way further than Going to the Olive Garden on a last minute whim.
Further, any girl would would call you "cheap" after you cook her a 4 course meal is pretty much a girl you wouldn't want to spend money on anyway, so it's a win-win.
I think it's good, and indeed much better, actually "taking out" someone for dinner on a first date may be a bit like prostitution to me. I pay, you owe me the pussy. It depends on the case, but the general attitude of men have to pay many times is just socially accepted prostitution.

Oh not at ALL! I would be massively impressed by a guy who was that confident and knew how to cook. Plus your date is sure to be way more intimate. It shows thought and care. I think it's fantastic! and if the girl thinks you're cheap, she's crazy and you need to stay away anyhow :P
I think it's really sweet. And I don't think it's cheap at all. Ignore the one girl who said it is. It shows that you care enough about her to take the time to do something so nice for her. And it's even better if you let her help you (assuming she wants to.) It's better than going out, because it's more private and romantic.
I think if you cook yourself its cheaper...but it depends what you're cooking really :) Something simple is cheap, but if you were cooking something really complicated what they only serve at fancy 5 star resturants then it might be just as expensive, if not even more costly! :D
No it's not cheap. It's AWESOME. A guy cooked for me recently and I think he was trying to impress me, but it only came across as very sweet and thoughtful because he was so nonchalant about it. It was delicious. When I complimented him on it I knew it made him feel like a king, because he made a joke about starting a catering service. :)
Cool date. It's not cheap to prepare a well-cooked meal for a lady. However, taking her out every once in a while is a nice gesture.
~DistantIf you cook that will be way more impressive than taking her out! it shows that you care and are willing to put in the effort. Taking her out to a top restaurant would also impress her, but cooking is way more personal.
definetly impressed by a guy who could cook .any guy could take a girl on a date,it shows a guy puts in more effort and time into the date when he cooks plus not all home cooked meals are cheap.
I would love for my guy to cook for me..He always wants to take me out to eat.in the almost 4 years we been seeing each other he has cooked for me one time...a microwaved hot dog lmao
It's definitely not cheap ! I love guys who know how to cook...especially ones who cook for me. lol I think that's a sweet/inexpensive date that will win you brownie points [ no pun intended. ]
No.. It's not cheap. Especially considering the effort and time it takes to make a superb 3-4 course meal. It means a lot more than taking a girl out imo.
I would lovvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvvveeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee that. Especially if I can help you make something. ESPECIALLY if there are candles.
Sometimes it's better than going out. It's a turn on when a guy can cook you a fabulous meal. It shows you care, you're talented, and you can be more intimate and yourself at home.
Not at all. Not only is it more romantic, especially for her, but it's more intimate and even healthier.
i would so like if a guy did that...it's really sweet and cute & it will make me love you even more but a few outtings are good too
That's adorable! I think it's a more comfortable setting too since you'd be at home... I would love it :)
Awesome date, I don't know many guys who can cook well. That date would be great ;)
Not at all, if anything it's better! You're putting much more time, thought, and effort into the date :)
It would be better than taking me out.
You would get points for effort, even if I didn't like it. :)its romantic, it shows that you really care about the girl. Want to make the effort to make dinner for her
I'd prefer you cooking for me anytime. I don't care about the price..
