breakfast: a cup of noodles and a slice of bread
Lunch: half of a ham and cheese sandwich
dinner: home made burger
Breakfast: one to two bowls of cereal (because it's fast and easy, I should switch to oatmeal though.)
Lunch: A sandwich, a few pickles, a few chips. Occasionally something else, too, like a small bowl of mac and cheese.
Dinner: This is the one that changes a lot, usually a piece of grilled chicken breast, a cup of rice or less, and a side of vegetables. I am usually starving at dinner time, so I eat with my eyes.
I'm 5'6 and weigh 170ish, but I hold my weight very well. I was lucky to have to body shape that I have. I do think I eat too much at times, but I try to counter it by just being active. I think it's okay to indulge every once in awhile, and don't hate yourself for it.
on an average day I'll have:
Breakfast
two boiled eggs with toast and white tea with honey
a banana
an oat cereal bar
Lunch
two soy burgers with relish and fresh onion
a small glass of fresh orange juice
Evening meal
marinated chicken breast with brown rice and fresh vegatables
small glass of cranberry juice
Dessert
fruit salad consisting of strawberries, raspberries, blackberries, grapes and bio yoghurt
Snacks
Raw carrot
fruit
nuts/seeds
chocolate
and at least 1.5 letres of water
I think a lot of people are way too conscious about what they eat, but in a very counter productive way. They'll eat a salad but pour a bucket of creamy sauce on it. They'll skip meals but eat a bunch of fattening snacks etc...
I think eating healthy is pretty easy as long as you use your common sense and enjoy life and indulge in sweets, snacks etc... with moderation.
What makes the biggest difference in my opinion is exercise, being active and not completly inactive. I see a lot of people counting calories with laughable accuracy instead if just finding a fun physical activity to do.
did you even read what I wrote?
You asked how much food do people eat a day and if others think you eat too much based on what you described. I answered that to me a lot of people are too conscious about what they eat instead of focusing on their level of physical activity. What matter is the balance of the two.
Someone eating 2000 calories a day without ever exercising is going to be in a very different shape than someone eating the same amount and being very active. That's the only point I tried to make.
okay but it didn't answer the question just saying.
You seem to be eating a decent amount of food. Are you intending to loose weight or something? 'cuz if you are, this does not seem like a very healthy diet anyway. But every body is different, depending on your metabolic rate this might work just well for you.
I'm okay with my body it's just everyone keeps telling me I eat too little. I'm like well I'm full so what do you want me to do? Eat till I barf?
For a girl, and your size I think the amount is just fine. But please not the amount you eat is actually of little importance compared to the composition of what you eat. Try to keep always a well balanced diet.
Just to be on the safe side, I would suggest you get a body composition measurement, and check if its healthy. Keeping a healthy diet and exercising is always important. Even if you look slim, you could be a "skinny fat."
ohh I do eat a balanced meal, its just I havnt gone grocery shopping yet and that's all I had in the house haha.
Im a huge fan of a BFC measurements. People can be skinny as a twig and still be extremely unhealthy. Its not how much you eat but what you eat that matters. Lifestyle also play s ahuge part. I'm not sure on the specifics but sitting down for extended hours during a day can be just as bad for your body as eating unhealthy.

i eat as much as possible.
on a typical day it will be like
breakfast: 2 or 3 bananas and some cereal or something
lunch: 2 footlongs from subway
dinner: a full plate of spahgetti with a banana
and in between lunch and dinner ill eat a snack too.. probably a couple bananas and strawberry milk lol
im 5'11 145lbs
wow
its because of fast metabolism... and I need it for my exercise :)
and I forgot to mention that late nigth (like 10pm) I tend to eat another meal... equivalent to what I ate at dinner (which is at about 6)... lol :)
eat til your full. workout til you can't anymore. do this everyday. you will be fine. it don't matter how much you eat compared to other people. look at my pictures. I am sort of the long lean build and I eat way more than my 275lb training partners. its all about genetics/metabolism/and your workout.
I'm 5'11" and 160
today I ate
breakfast: 1 cup oatmeal w/bananas and 1 cup coffee
lunch: 1 cup coffee
dinner: 1 cup coffee
and a whole bunch of water.
I think you eat normally. I mean, you might want to add in some more fruit and vegetables, but I wouldn't recommend eating the way I do.
must be some huge burger or you have a slow metabolism. that sounds like 1,00 calories unless your poring sone crazy sauce on the noodles, and have half a pound of ham in your sandwich.
really what you wrote doesn't help, without amounts. a half sandwich can be 150 or 400 calories. a burger can be 200-1,00 calories depending on what you do with it.. same with noodles. But anyways if its maintaing your weight, I guess you get what you need ;)
Well, I'm about the same size as you.
As a rule I don't eat breakfast. For dinner, I might have a sandwich and soup. At coffee time (around 3pm), I might have piece of cake or toast. For supper, that is when I'll really eat - a good size portion of meat, potatoes, some sort of vegetable.
I can't say that I eat really healthy which is stupid on my part but I don't really think about it because my metabolism is fairly high and I don't gain any weight.
Breakfast - Pop tarts, Eggo waffles, or something really unhealthy from the bakery/coffee shop in my town. And coffee, always have to have really strong coffee. I hate most breakfast foods.
Lunch - I usually don't eat lunch.
Dinner - It depends. I hate cooking, and I am a really picky eater. lol Usually whatever my boyfriend makes.
I usually eat once or twice out of the day at most. I usually try and eat something like a fruit or cereal in the morning I might have an occasional snack between breakfast and dinner on some days but usually I'll eat something like meat rice and some form of vegetables for dinner. I try to drink a lot of water or some kind of natural fruit drink through out the day as well.
Sounds like a good day to me. lol Mine is pretty much 2 meals one before work and after work.
Obviously this isn't everyday or I'd probably be 300lbs. I just had some Taco Bell then when I get out of work at 11:30 I'll probably make a turkey sandwich or something.
Hmm, I usually eat on...
Breakfast : sometimes cornflakes, and sometimes brown toast with cheese spread and coffee
Lunch : Beef steak with rice and hot sauce,
Dinner : any sort of club sandwich is okay with me
But I move alot, playing volleyball and stuff at nights, so I eat again to regain my energy
Breakfast: slice of toast
Lunch: I am at school so I don't usually eat anything
Afternoon snack: yogurt and fruit (replaces lunch but is too late to call lunch)
Dinner: depends usually chicken and vegetables or a small steak and salad...
I am a bigger girl an Aussie size 14 but I just don't get hungry :/
Breakfast: maybe some cereal and milk.
Lunch: some chocolate biscotti.
Dinner: some snacks.
i barely eat at all- which is probably the reason why I am underweight. whatever. right now, eating is an annoying thing to me. but maybe it'll change in the future.
Breakfast is usually a granola bar, piece of fruit, and some juice.
Lunch is either a sandwich and some chips or crackers or two little homemade pizzas.
Dinner depends on the day.
I try to eat no more than 2,000 calories a day, though.
yum that sounds like a good breakfast to me ;)
That doesn't sound like a lot, but as long as it keeps you full. I try incorporating snacks through the day if you are not full, like maybe some grapes or carrots. Only if you find what you eat is not keeping you full.
that doesn't sound like a lot. How can you stay full until dinner if all you have for lunch is half a sandwich? You don't eat snacks?
I eat everything I can and I still can't gain weight. FML.
lucky :)
I knew a guy who had that problem. He took to drinking Sustagen and similar drinks to bulk himself up. Have you tried doing that?
Sounds like your workouts might not be what you need. If you're looking to gain mass you want heavy weights with low reps... around 4-6 per set. When you're buying your beef, I'm assuming you're eating a lot of beef for the protein, don't cheat yourself by buying the extra lean meats. Once you have the muscle you bodys metabolism will naturally burn all the extra fat off once youve got it where you want it.
I'm on a 6000 Calorie diet.
I lose track of everything I eat in a day.
I had some eggs for breakfast, some crack head soup at around 4 then cooked a steak at 8
today was interesting.
Breakfast- Steak and Eggs
Lunch- Salad and Chicken
Dinner- Shrimp
Been trying to get more protein for summer muscles.
i eat all day errrday. even when I'm bored I'll eat. food is my life
I eat enough to feel full. I exercise to sustain my weight. It varies.
