It may be because you threw up so much. Also depends on how much alcohol your body actually absorbed. Either way, you should learn to pace yourself. If you get really drunk on liquor, make weaker drinks or have water in between the drinks. If you drink beer or wine, try for a drink every 40 minutes or longer. Until you know how your body processes alcohol. Helps to have a snack as well towards the end of the night.

Some people don't really get them. I've only had few. I think big part of it is staying hydrated. I know older people will tell me that if they don't have a glass of water after every 2 beers, they get headaches in the morning.
So I guess when your younger it's the same thing just not as bad. Some people are just more likely to get hungover than others.
You probably just weren't drunk enough. (from experience) Only time I had hangover was when drank half a litre of 56% brandy.
