I’ve been trying to eat less, but it’s hard!
Its more a gradual thing, i went on the "800" calorie diet and realised i really dont need much more than that a day i work down to it. Slowly reduce what you eat and you will feel less hungry. Its about getting your blood sugar levels down (which is the idea behind the 800) so you stop craving crap.
Drink lots of water, force your self into black coffee and just drink a pint of water and a black coffee if you feel hungry, then go do something, if your still so hungry have something small to eat.
As for food just smaller portions of a Mediterranean style diet. I tend to eat about 1200-1600 at the moment, but am a big guy21 Reply

I am working on a small bit of abdominal fat. and in conjunction with my HARD YOGA classes and eating mostly Vegetables and fruits, I have almost entirely eliminated Sugar, fats, starchy stuff, including breads, rolls, pastries, rice, et cetera.
It is a hard regimen to hold but I have done it for a long time in the past and am trying to stick with it.
Eating less, is, of course, the Key to weight loss, and one thing that might help is increasing your intake of water with a meal, as that will give you a better feeling of being 'full' when you eat.
Not to say it is 'easy', as it never is, and all you can do is try to maintain a regimen that you can follow, long term.

Flower, I was reading Babygirl, below and she mentioned something I left out, and that I DO ALSO.
Do try to not use LARGE PLATES when you are serving yourself something for meals or snacks, as that too, lends itself to overeating. I have bought clear desert dishes from Amazon to make servings of various foods and us them for serving an avocado perhaps or even some kind of bran cereals.
Smaller dishes do help you eating smaller portions.
Good luck, sweet woman.

Well, good question to me, because I'm on a diet :)
Just eat less - after some time organism adjusts to this (I found myself not being able to eat what was too few for me before).
And drink a lot of water, when you feel you want to eat something

+1 yEat fresh properly all colors across the rainbow. Avoid processed foods or canned goods. Salads are good. Restrict red meat and eggs and dairy. Eat fish twice a week. My go to protein is chicken or turkey, but you could add tofu or tempeh. Experiment a bit.

+1 yDrink plenty of water, fruit flavored sparkling water that is sugar free sodium free and calorie free is a bit more interesting than still water.
21 ReplyOne would be not to surround yourself with anything tasty. Make sure that whatever you do eat is very nutritious.
Physical activity can suppress appetite, try something like a set of pullups next time you're hungry.21 ReplyI basically cut my portion sizes and change what I’m eating. So if I would say have two scoops of potatoes at dinner I only have one. I cut out most gains and increased more veggies and protein

if you cut back on foods/drinks with high sugar or sodium you'll slowly lose weight over time. to much sugar in your diet turns to fat if not burnt off. while to much sodium (salt) makes you retain water weight. however you still need a bit of each to balance natural levels to avoid medical issues. but you can get what you need from a verity of healthy foods/drinks. best to make your own meals when possible for best effect. also modest exercise can help improve how quick things go.

+1 ycut the sugar and carbs. eat mostly fat/meat (without breading) and fiber/veggies. that way it's very difficult to overeat. cause your body will make you feel sated and even nauseous before you can eat too much. with sugar, and carbs, our body is actually designed to overeat on it.

you will have to overcome some cravings within the first week or so. because your entire gut flora is streamlined to process what you normally eat and it will revolt against this new diet for a while untill it gets used to the new diet.
+1 yDrink lots of water because liquid fills more stomach room.
