i only swim in the pool in my backyard or my friend's backyard, and our families don't care and say they'd rather us pee in the pool than go inside soaking wet to go to the toilet. They've said this since we were little kids lol. Besides, the chlorine in the pool kills any germs in the pee and just makes it basically the same as water.

I've had this scenario personally in the family which is why I asked the question. the 2 members argument is "everyone does it", and they don't want to change. I never did and I don't because to me, it is disrespectful to others as I'm generally in someone elses pool, it's their property, and it's for swimming, not a toilet. It does take chemicals to keep water quality. If many people do this, it's no different than anything else.. gross. Granted, it's small, but it's a gross thought.
To me, this is a matter of respect to others... kinda like littering... in concept.
Ocean, I accept, not that I would as I think it's a bad idea.

What I've gained from this issue (not just this discussion) is an awareness of public facilities and that I am cautious whom I invite to use such facilities with me. I cannot contol everyone, but I can filter whom I can. For examaple, those involved in my family will discover I no longer book swimming pools on their vacations:) You are ok with people doing the same in your pool/hottub if you had one right? Like... you throw an event and 50 peolpe are there at your personal pool you built and paid for and people are peeing in your pool. you are cool with it right? if so, then you are consistent for yourself at least.
