Can an X-ray technician deny a women's request to have a urine sample to be given before they go ahead with orders of an x-ray?

I requested before having my x-ray to be done for my injury if I am able to give a sample for urine, which is when the technician said well it was not placed in the order and I can request to give them a urine sample after my x-ray is taken. I have never been treated with disrespect by any hospital staff.

Nurse here. In my hospital, our radiology department is slammed with patients all the time.

They need to get your imaging done and the imaging of a lot of other patients because they have physicians and nurses like me breathing down their necks.

To answer your question, no. They cannot deny or grant your request to give a urine sample. Not their job. Not my job either. Your physician needs to order the sample or you need to request it from them so they can order it for you. Then a nurse will handle getting the sample.

They didn't deny you anything because there was nothing to deny. They did exactly what they were supposed to and they told you to request a sample from your doctor.

They said to do it after because this is when you were scheduled and they have other patients.

Take it from me, the healthcare system is overwhelmed and we are doing our best.
