no... this is just, literally and figuratively... a matter of perspective, lol
glasses do not make your vision worse, however, people being stubborn and not using their glasses as they should be using them can make things look and feel worse, lol
It hasn't worked that way for me. Age and my health has affected my eyesight. Regular eye health visits and glasses that are clean and up to date prevent my vision from getting worse.
This is interesting as I went to a basketball game and had worn my glasses but couldn't see anything as it looked fuzzy. Though without my glasses I was able to see better. Though I only wear my glasses when watching TV though as a teenager I never wore them till in my 20's as my vision got worse with diabetes. I am on the computer and can see clearly what I am typing without glasses on.
What type of glasses are they? Sounds like maybe you wore your reading computer glasses at the game, for distance, and that's why it made things blurry?
No, but wearing glasses make you used to a better vision, so the contrast makes your vision without glasses seem worse than before, cause you were used to it.
I started wearing glasses in my mid-20s. It's because I studied architecture and was hitting the books and drawing quite often in my studies in architecture. Then I went on and studied mechanical engineering it was quite fascinating for me and I still continue to wear glasses to this day. Of course I'm a lot older like 40 years older. I do not depend on my glasses that much anymore. In my state I am required to have an eye exam by a licensed optometrist or at the DMV.
yes glasses/contacts make your eyes worse because they make your eyes dependent on them to see which makes your eye muscles weaker. there's a reason why prescriptions keep increasing year over year.
Well I've been wearing glasses since I was about 8 or 9 and when I'm not wearing them everything looks blurry and one of my friends who also wears glasses says that when he's not wearing his glasses he's almost blind
I used to have to wear glasses every waking hour, possibly caused by reading in the dark when I was a kid. I don't think wearing glasses caused my eyes to get worse.
Maybe a lasik or something? Which is a bandaid to the real thing, right? The eyeball gets permanently elongated if you do lasik. Why not instead shrink the eyeball to its natural length...
Yeah, I had lasik... best thing I've done... most obvious bonus is being able to see the shampoo in a shower :) It vaporises tissue in the eye to correct vision, had it about 7 years ago and not noticed any issues.
Lasik can be ok.. the problem is that.. what caused the myopia in the first place? I know what. The habits. Looking up close and not doing any prevention. This way what would prevent you from needing another lasik after another? While if you learn what causes myopia, you can also reverse it naturally.
Another thing my optometrist told me was that low-light reading damaging eyes is a myth, as well as screen time damaging eyes, he said that was also a myth. I did a lot of low-light reading from 5-25 and my vision stayed more or less the same. (myopic)
I don’t remember how well I saw before I started wearing them, so I don’t have any evidence for either side. Even if I had decent memory, being short sighted like I am feels like I need them a lot more than if I had the opposite problem.

No. Your brain gets used to seeing what's actually there and you are more aware of your visual issues is all.

I have read that glasses over time will make your eyesight worse because the muscles become lazy. I’m not sure how true that is though.

For the first few mins after taking them off my face only.

Yes, this is true! Wearing glasses makes vision worse!
As you get older the worse your vision gets.
it sucks but it is just the way it is.

Used to? What changed?

@zeitgeist057 lol who tf is an optometrist? They have no education and no liability so they even lie on purpose lol
See my opinion, it's at the top, hope it's helpful.
I've never heard this before, but I'm noticing this with myself
I wear glasses when i read only, i have two pairs and i read A LOOOOT and it makes everything look like 4K, near sight only.
worse i've had a few eye doctors confirm this even though they knew they shouldn't
I don’t remember how well I saw before I started wearing them, so I don’t have any evidence for either side. Even if I had decent memory, being short sighted like I am feels like I need them a lot more than if I had the opposite problem.
No, you're just more aware of how bad your vision is once you get glasses.
I’m completely dependent on mine lol. If I’m not wearing mine for whatever reason, I need someone to help me get places.
I prefer to eat lutein and zeaxanthin, sungaze, and go fruity. Glasses make me see better ONLY when I wear them THROUGH them. They don’t heal vision.
