Just about every single person in the Western world has at least one mental disorder nowadays. You either can admit to it. Or you're lying. Which one, out of the most common ones, do you have?

And yeah, I left anonymous mode open this one time, for all the cowards out there.

I have literally no mental illnesses at all and I am 100% healthy, sane, and "normal." (Bullsh*t)

Eating Disorder, like Anorexia, Bulimia, or Binge-eating.

Learning Disorder, like Autism, Asperger's, or Dyslexia.

I was diagnosed with Paranoid Schizophrenia years ago. There was always an uncertainty, about the diagnosis, and the psychiatrist who gave me that diagnosis, based it off of a very real psychotic episode, but was not sure it was the right fit, he told me, that he needed to give me a diagnosis, to get me real help. Years in the system, and I've been "normal" ever since, I take no medication, and the system has "removed" me, from it, since there was no need for treatment. Since then, I have spend too many hours and too much money, seeing different therapists, and they all say the same thing, that it appears to have been a stress related episode, in a combination of events in my life, mostly from my childhood home (my mother was recently found to have a personality disorder), which seems to explain, well, everything. Its been a whole circus and a half.

Today I am clear, I am very aware of myself and for the first time ever, I feel that I bring value into the lives of the people around me. I keep seeing my therapist, just to make sure, I keep working on all the parts of me, that seems to have been broken, and what I broke in others, due to being in pain myself.

Used to be anxiety was my #1, but I have worked through that a lot. Sometimes it flares up, but Depression and PTSD related to my attack are life long friends now.

Which is why I call Bullshit when Liberals say, people with mental illness shouldn't be able to own guns, cause that is their way of eliminating 95% of gun owners and still saying they are legal.

I was not sure whenever to answer this anonymous, but in the end I decided not to.

I'd say that in this period, with the help of a therapist naturally, I'm dealing with anxiety, brought forward by the lot of changes in my life - having a daughter, while at the same time losing my father and my sister in quick succession.

I admit I had a lot of anxiety moments after my sister's passing - I was the one who discovered she had passed away in her sleep, and for a very brief I would check on both my wife and my daughter to see if they were breathing when they were asleep, to the point of waking them up. My wife would get pissed when I woke up the baby like that, despite doing her best to be understanding and patient.

When I was younger I was diagnosed with Generalized Anxiety Disorder to go with OCD and depression. I have come a long way since that point and being on medication leading up to college before getting off of it and finishing sessions with my psychiatrist.

I still deal with Anxiety today, but thankfully have found ways to deal with it through CBT, minus mods and having support.

I did CBT and 14 years of therapy, along with trying every single anti-depressant on the market, especially Zoloft. I never got to finish CBT, but the rest only helped me minimally. So I'm glad you had better success with it.

Yeah I appreciate thebsupport man. I wasn't fond of the medication and would argue that it pretty much turned me into a zombie on auto pilot. No highs or lows, just there. Didn't feel right.

No one shares the same experiences with this kind of stuff, but that was mine. CBT Didn't work for me as a kid because I didn't understand and couldn't comprehend the purpose of it. I namely just saw it as a thing to enjoy because it got me out of school when those appointments came up.

Unfortunately, anxiety seems to be part of my life most days. Mainly caused from work, but our home life certainly can create some issues for both of us. I'm not sure that I fully agree with you that everybody has some mental illness, but it certainly seems a wide range of people do experience it at some point in their lives. My sister has to be medicated.

Was diagnosed with Autism and ADHD when I was 5 or so. I’ve been doing pretty good and used to think maybe I was misdiagnosed or that I “grew out of it”, but recently I’ve realized that a lot of the time I’ve been heavily masking and mirroring in order to sail through life with relative ease.

I was diagnosed with only ADHD as a kid and that's the only diagnosis for anything of that sort. I think that diagnosis is wrong too, so there's really nothing wrong with me as far as I know. I'm not really a fan of self diagnoses you see people do on the internet sometimes either.

Out of those posted really nothing. I haven’t been diagnosed with any mental illnesses. The closest I could say is seasonal depression, or slight depression during certain days of the year. Like for example the anniversary of my dads death yeah I’m gonna be a little withdrawn and sad but it’s not a permanent state of being.


I wouldn’t consider autism, dyslexia etc as a mental illness though.

I've never been diagnosed with anything except PTSD. I would bet money that I have something else, but don't know what. I'm reasonably functional though and I don't want any more labels, so I think it doesn't matter really.

I can get a shitty mood if u don't go outside for a long time. Which means it is in order. Pain signals aren't the problem.. so I would say the real disorder would be the smartness to mask the symptoms, like taking shit so I feel better while doing bullshit all day.
