I feel empty inside?

I have depression and anxiety.. I have it under control with an antidepressant but my feelings of dying haven't really gone away... and every time someone disappoints me I feel like I should just off myself because I am completely alone, and have no one not even friends.
Is there something that can change this?

Meh.. I just got offered a good job to make $78,000 a year so guess I'll keep chugging along. And stop whining... I'm always super lucky with opportunities... So I guess I did say I would pick money over love so I will just give up on love. Since love is what's destroying me as a person.

Join the club, hun! I don't have anyone, either! I just have a number of writing and recording projects I want to get done and, along the way, I hope to find SOME way to leave my mark on the world. In a way, I already have. I helped write 5 books and did voice acting in a couple movies so, I have an IMDb page and I've made LOADS of people happy with the drumming I did in my band over the decades but, not very many people know of any of those accomplishments!! Most that do are now dead or, they just don't matter to them, anymore!!
I've not been very lucky at all in love OR money!! Or, much of anything else, for that matter!! Good luck in your new job!! I sure wish I could get one!!

Your depression is not under control sorry if it was you wouldn't have those thought off ending things and you wouldn't feel empty. I think you need to speak with the person who prescribed the medication and see if you can have your antidepressants changed.

My daughter has depression and anxiety and she feels the same way sometimes. I always told her, if you can't maintain a certain level of happiness in your life, then you should put off being in an relationship, as you can't always depend on someone else's happiness.

Congrats on the new job offer and it sounds like your level of happiness would increase.

And learned helpless is attributing control to external factors.

It has nothing to do with what is going on in my life, my life is fine... I should be happy... but I feel nothing for anything... I am in college and I have a 4.0 gpa.. I get paid just to go to school $2000 a month and I don't owe it back when I'm finished... I have people who like me.. My parents love me. I should have a decent job when I finish this course... I live life... How am I helpless? I am not.. I just want to die..

If something isn't working it is not the right solution, no matter what you believe or if you understand why.

Aka if you believe that having a 4.0 GPA, getting paid $2000, or having loving parents must per se give happiness, and it doesn't, it necessarily means that you are wrong about what happiness is.

Things don't happen just because they happen, there is a cause. You believe, think, or do something that is making you miserable.
