Well toned that's basically weights for guys. My guy swears by 3 different weight exercises bench press, barbell squats and Romanian deadlifts. Then he does his other stuff on dumbells, barbells, cable machines and so on. Then he switches between weights and cardio. I started to do the barbell squats, dumbell squats, Romanian deadlifts and cardio on the penlton and treadmill and it helped me lose the baby weight a long with yoga
Diet I think is the most important, if you are looking to get toned but are overweight you won't get the results you want.

If your gym has group sessions, e. g. CrossFit, sign up for those. You're more likely to keep going if you're part of a group than if you're working out alone. It also means you will learn new exercises, correct form, etc. It'll force you out of your comfort zone so there is less risk of plateauing. You already sound extroverted, so it seems like a slam dunk.
I'm not, I don't like being around people in general and I got a partner, I just don't like groups so is there a way I can succeed alone?
You could also find a workout buddy, maybe a friend. If you're doing it alone, maybe listen to a podcast you like while working out, or reward yourself with some treat after you're done, to create pleasant associations in your mind around working out.

To be more toned... diet. Quality diet.
Have zero vegetable oils and zero artificial flavors and shit.
No processed sugar and all the things that make guys fat even if they work out.
