If a world has an atmosphere, does the whole thing need to be coated in one or can parts have some and other not have it?

I'd say that without giving the subject tons of thought, compartmentalized atmospheres do exist.

Think of smog over LA, for instance.

I imagine that you're thinking of much more diverse divisions than that, though.

I'd still say that it'd be possible, depending on... physics!

I just recently discovered that most of Genshuna Ipaca is all metal and stuff, sort of a Halo x Transformers situation here so that got me wondering, as well as that one place that is sort of a kingdom of the Gendarus of God… well…. It might actually not have oxygen or anything like that he doesn’t need it and I don’t see why any of the other people there would need it either.
