I have gel x nails and recently dropped a heavy object on my fingers. The gel x nails appears to be completely fine but I feel a lot of pain on the entire nail bead when bending my fingers and even if I touch the gel nail or apply the slightest bit of pressure. Thankfully it happened in my non dominant hand cause I can’t use it much. I tried applying ice but for some odd reason I found that the pain got even worse. Maybe I’m doing it incorrectly. What else can I do for the pain?

You have probably damaged the kwik of the nail which is where the nerves and blood vessels are. This is the equivalent to getting your finger caught in a draw. It's just going to take time for it to heal. My recommendation is to give your nails a break from this crap.
Hi, Thanks for the response. I will be careful and patient with the healing process. This is the first time I put on any artificial nails or went to a nail salon for that matter lol, so I didn’t know what to expect. It does feel very natural to me but I probably won’t do it again cause this pain is too much, plus I keep bumping it during the day on accident 😫
I'm sorry to hear that you're experiencing pain in your nail bed. It's possible that you may have injured your nail bed or even fractured the bone underneath your nail. Here are a few things you can do to help with the pain:
1. Rest your finger: Try to avoid using your injured finger as much as possible to give it time to heal.
2. Apply a cold compress: Using a cold compress, like an ice pack or a bag of frozen peas wrapped in a towel, can help reduce swelling and ease pain. Make sure to wrap the cold compress in a towel or cloth to avoid direct contact with your skin.
3. Soak your finger in warm water: Try soaking your finger in a bowl of warm water mixed with Epsom salt. This can help reduce swelling and promote healing.
4. Take pain relievers: Over-the-counter pain relievers like ibuprofen or acetaminophen can help alleviate pain and reduce inflammation.
5. Protect your finger: If your nail bed is broken, you may want to wrap your finger in a bandage to protect it from further injury.
6. Seek medical attention: If your pain is severe or you suspect that you may have a fracture, it's important to seek medical attention. A doctor can examine your finger and determine the best course of treatment.
It's important to take care of your finger and give it time to heal. If the pain persists or gets worse, it's important to seek medical attention assoon as possible.
Thanks!
Why it broke🤣
I was working out and a 15lb kettle ball slid, and as I tried to catch it, it somehow bumped / fell pretty hard on my nails. My nails were a bit longer than I usually have it so I was not used to gripping things with it. I don't know If that makes sense?
